To all whom if may concern.'
Be it known that l, CARL H. ZWERMANN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo county, Michigan, have invented certain new and useful lmprovements in Flushing-Tanks, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to improvements 1n flushing tanks.
My present invention relates particularly to improvements in that class of flushing tanks illustrated in my application for Letters Patent filed Bec. ll, 1907, Serial No. 400,047, and my present application is a divisional application of my application Serial No. 497,059, filed May 19, 1909, for flushing tanks.
The main object of this invention is to provide an improved iiushing tank which is formed of sheet metal and which is comparatively easy and economical to manufacture.
Further objects, and objects relating to details of construction, will definitely appear from the detailed description to follow.
l accomplish the objects of my invention by the devices and means described in the following specification.

A structure embodying the features of my invention is clearly illustrated in the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification., in which:

ln the drawings, similar reference characters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
Referring to the drawing, the tank l is formed of sheet metal from an integral blank, as is illustrated in Fig. 3, which comprises a bottom portion 3, side wall portions 2 at each side of the bottom portion, the side wall portions being provided at their ends with extensions l adapted to form the end walls of the tank. The side wall portions 2 of the blank are also provided with portions 5 at their outer edges adapted to form the inturned iianges 5 on the side walls. This blank is folded and the edges of the end portions l are welded together at 6 and to the ends of the bottom at 7. By thus forming the blank, the tank is made up with a minimum waste of material in the cutting of the blank, and with very little welding. This is the inner tank of the structure above referred to. The tank is coated with enamel S, as is illustrated in Fig. 3.
By forming the parts as I have illustrated and described, I am enabled to provide an enameled, sheet metal tank which is not only attractive in appearance and durable in use, but one which is simple and economical to manufacture.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is l. A tank comprising bottom, side and end walls, said side walls having inturned `[langes at their upper edges, said parts being formed of an integral blank of sheet metal, said blank comprising a central portion constituting the bottom and side portions on each side of said central portions, constituting the side walls, said side wall portions having extensions at each end constituting the end walls, and extensions at their outer edges constituting said flanges, the edges of said end walls being welded together and to each other.
2. A flushing or like tank composed of sheet metal bent to shape having its bottom integral with the front wall and the ends of the bottom welded to the lower edges of the end walls. the top edges of the tank being flanged inwardly.
