To all whom, it may concern Be it known that I, JAY H. MAISH, a citizen of the United States, residing at Galion, in the county of Crawford and State of Ohio, have invented a new and useful Collar-Button; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact descriptionof the invention, such as will on able others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to an improved collar and necktie holder for neck bands of shirts.

The primary object of the invention is to provide a simple device of this nature which can be made of spring steel or any other suitable metal and which can be quickly applied to button holes or collar bands.

The invention comprises further features and combination of parts, as hereinafter set forth, shown in the drawings and claimed.

In the'draWings:-*Figure 1 is a rear elevation of a portion of a shirt band, showing the fastener applied and a collar illustrated in dotted lines. Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail perspective View of the fastener. Fig. 3 is a horizontal sectional view, more clearly disclosing how the collar is held in a zig-zag contour by the fastener, in order to prevent displacement of the collar.

Referring to the drawings 1 designates the shirt band, which is provided with a pocket 2 of the usual construction. As shown in the drawings a collar 4 shown in dotted lines is attached to the shirt band by the fasteners 6. The fastener 6 is composed of a single piece of spring steel wire, which is bent to form the loop 7. This loop 7 is adapted to pass through the button hole of the collar as shown in Fig. 3. The wire after forming the loop 7 is bent upon itself in two places, as shown at 8, and again bent upon itself, also in two places, as shown at Specification of Letters Patent.

9 a t right angles to the bends 8, thus providing the portions 10 substantially parallel with the parts 12. By forming the bends 8 at right angles to the bends 9, the sides 11 of the loop 7 are disposed between the portions 10 as shown in Fig. 3. In this manner it will be seen that a secure clamping action is insured upon the collar, owing to the fact that a portion of the collar is arranged zigzag between the parts 10 and 11. The ends of the parts 12 are brought together as at 13 and soldered or otherwise connected, thus forming the loop 14, which enters the pocket of the shirt band.

The invention having been set forth, what is claimed as new and useful is In combination, a fastener constructed of a single piece of spring steel wire formed into a collar engaging loop and a shirt band engaging loop, the last loop adapted to engage a pocket of the shirt band, the wire being bent upon itself twice so as to form intermediate parts arranged substantially parallel with the sides of said loops, the bends between the sides of the collar engaging loop and the intermediate parts be ing at right angles to the bends between the sides of the shirt band engaging loop and said intermediate parts, the sides of the collar engaging loop being alined with the in termediate parts, so that when the collar engaging loop engages a button hole of a collar, a portion of the cellar will be arranged in a zig-zag contour in order to prevent its displacement.
