To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, DON L. THOMPSON, a citizen ofthe United States, residing at Spokane, in the county of Spokane,State have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bath-Cabinets; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in lo theart to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention is directed to improve ments in bath cabinets, and has for its object to construct a cabinet whereby dry heat 15 or vapor may be utilized for the body.

lVith these and other objects in view, this invention resides in the novel features of construction, formations, combinations and arrangements of parts to be hereinafter described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which:-

Fig. 8 is a side elevation of the device showing the burners in the position when vapor is being employed for the bath.

Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 designates the cabinet, which is formed from sheet metal, and consists of end walls 2, side walls 3, and bottom 41, said bottom being semi-circular in cross section. The cabinet 1 is supported upon legs 5. The cabinet is preferably rectangular in shape, size to receive the body of the patient with comfort. Within the cabinet 1 is a body rest 6, which is composed of a plurality of longitudinally extending slats 7 One of the end walls 2 has an opensurface, so that when steam is generated in the tank 10 the same will be directed downwardly toward the bottom of the tank, thus not coming in direct contact with the body of the bather. The pipe sections 11 may be secured in the bottom of the tank in any suitable manner so that the steam pipe 12 will be positioned within the cabinet so that steam therefrom will be directed to the body of the patient.

Depending from one end of the tank 10 is a hanger 14, said hanger having asleeve15 formed at its lower end for slidably receiving the burner supporting tube 15. Detachably connected to the tube 15 are burners 16, which may be of any conventional form. A. hanger 17 is provided, and depends from the other end of the tank 10, said hanger being substantially V-shaped, and is provided near its lower end with a pair of spaced lugs 18, which slidably engage the sides of the web 19 mounted upon one end of the burner supporting tube 15', thus preventing rotation of said tube when supported in the hangers, but at the same time allowing the same to be slidably adjusted.

Extending through the tank 10, and near the outer ends thereof, are fiues 20, so that when the burners are in the position as shown in Fig. 1 heat therefrom will be directed through said fines and directly upon the bottom of the cabinet.

To generate steam within the tank 10 it is only necessary to slide the burner supporting tube in a position as shown in Fig. 8, whereupon the flame from the burners will be directed directly against the bottom of the tank 10, thus generating steam therein which passes through the pipe 12 and out of the perforations 13 formed therein.

To prevent over filling of the tank 10 an indicator 21 is provided and is connect- 4 ing 8 formed therein to receive the neck of the bather when lying upon the rest 6. Secured to the end wall 2 which is provided with the said opening 8 is a head rest 9, which may be adjusted at diflerent inclina- 50 tions to suit the bather.

Mounted beneath the bottom of the cabinet is a tank 10, said tank having rising from its opposite ends pipe sections 11, said pipe sections being connected by a horizontal 55 steam pipe 12, which is provided with a pll1- rality of alined perforations 13 in its undered to the tank 10 by a pipe 22, said indicator comprising a vertical tube 23, having operable therein a float operated indicating rod 24.

Connected to the lower end of the indicator tube 21 is a drain cock 25, the same being operable to drain the water from the tank 10 when desired.

From this construction it will be seen that when the bather desires to be treated with vapor, the burners are positioned as shown in Fig. 8, thereby heating the water in the tank 10 to generate steam, and if it is desired to be treated with heat alone the burner tube is shifted to the position as shown in Fig. 1, whereby the heat is directed to the bottom of the cabinet.

What is claimed is 1. A bath cabinet comprising sides, end Walls and a bottom, a water tank supported below the bottom, a steam pipe located within the cabinet and having connection with the steam tank, flues formed in said tank, a burner supporting tube slidably mounted beneaththe tank, said tube being slidably adjusted so that the burners carried thereby may be shifted under the fiues.

A bath cabinet comprising sides, end Walls, and a bottom, a body rest supported in the cabinet, a steam tank mounted below the bottom and connected to a steam pipe located within the cabinet, fines formed in the steam tank, hangers extending from the opposite ends of the steam tank, one of said hangers having spaced lugs carried thereby, a burner supporting tube slidably mounted in the hangers, one end of said tube being provided with a Web for slidably engaging the lugs of the hanger to prevent accldental rotation of the burner supporting tube, said burner supporting tube being adapted to be shifted so that the burners carried thereby may be positioned under the flues of the water tank or bottom of said tank. 7
