Letters Patent No. 106,426, dated August 16, 1870.
IMPROVEMENT IN CLASPS FOR LIGHTNING-RODS.
The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same I, RICHARD STREET, of the city and county of Albany, State .of New York, have invented certain Improvements in Clasps for Fastening Lightning and other Rods, \Vater and other Pipes, to Buildings and \Valls, and for other and like purposes, of which the following is a'spccification.
My invention relates to a clasp made of malleable iron, brass, or other metallic substance, in two distinct and separate part-s, so constructed that, by the aid of a key or wedge, they will embrace and firmly hold in position the rod or pipe designed to be secured; and these two parts are so easily separated that said rod .or pipe may be removed at pleasure without injury to of malleable iron or other metallic substance, in two parts, a and b.
a is constructed with a sharp point, e, and flange, (1, so that it can be driven in and firmly secured to the building or other place where it is designed to place the conductor or pipe; and
b is constructed with a projection, e, which is passed through an orifice '01- slot in u, and firmly secured thereto by the key or wedge g.
Claim.
I claim as my invention- A clasp or holder, constructed in two parts, and held together by a key or wedge, as before described, and for the purpose hereinbetbre set forth.
