WILLIAMSON COUNTY, ,TENNESSEEH MODE 0F ATTACHING CURTAIN-POSTS TO BEDSTEADS.
Specication of Letters Patent No. 1,062, dated January 8, 1839.
T0 all whom it may Concern.'
Be it known that I, THOMAS EARLY, of the county of Williamson, in the State of Tennesee, have invented a new and Improved Mode of Adding to or Combining with the Common Bedstead Curtain-Posts; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and eXact description.
The nature of my invention consists in so attaching a connecting curtain post to the common bedstead, that the covering of the bed may hang over the bedstead on all sides without the interference of the curtain posts, uniting taste with convenience.
To enable others to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its con struction.
It consists simply in attaching or connecting the curtain posts L a to the feet of the bedstead posts b, b by staples c, c, the Shanks or prongs of the staples entering the lower ends of the posts, so that all the posts shall stand irm on the floor. The curtain posts standing from 2 inches to 6 inches or farther directly 0H from the corners of the bedstead. The testers or curtain rails should be confined on the curtain posts by strong screws to keep the posts firm and steady. The curtain posts are distinct pieces from the posts ofy the bedstead, and only connected therewith as above described and as may be seen from the drawing hereto annexed.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to Vsecure by Letters Patent, is-
The adding to, or combining with the common bedstead curtain posts, as above described.
