A represents the timber, which extends down into the well, and which is, above the well, curved, extending horizontally toone side. Y
On thev front side, alo'ug the inner edge ofthe tim- "berA, is secured ab strap or bar, 415,*upon which is screwed the met-al `plate G, ot'. sutiicient width to project oneach side,.so aslto give room forthe grooved *wheels DDto work. A
t r The groored wheels 1) 1') are placed in suitable bear- I n ings on a' triangular frame or carriaggE, pointing iu,- ward, as shown in iig. 1. p
The wheels are placed so that two clasp the track ou each edge, thereby obviating the necessity of making more. than one track. i
v A rope or chain, d, passes from the. carriage E, over a pulley; G, placed onV the, outer edge ofthe timberA, at the bend thereof; and another ,rope or chain, b, passes from thesame point on the carriage, over small rollers d. (l placed 4between the timber-A and 'the track G in thebend, the'bar B being dut out at this point to'admit said rollers. i
'Ihe water-bucket is suspended from theinneLend of the carriage E in jsnch a manner that it will swing around when the carriage turns the curve, both going" up and down.
Having thus fully described my invention,`
Whatl claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is` l r The" combination ofthe timber A, bar I5, track G, rollers D D, carriage E, roller G, cords or chains a, b, and rollers (l d, all constructed and arranged subst-antially'as and for the purposes herein set. forth.
