This invention relates to W sh boilers, and the objects of my invention are, first, to provide a wash boiler that is in the form of a bucket; second, to furnish the boiler with a clothes supporting device that: prevents the clothes from being burned by the bottom of the boiler; third, to furnish the boilcr'iwith I a device that permits of clothes being easily and quickly drained and removed from the boiler, and fourth; to accomplish the above I results by a lne'chanical construction that is simple, durable, inexpensive to manufacture and highly eificient for the purposes for which it is intended. 1
"With the above and other objects in view the invention resides in the novel constructo be hereinafter specifically described and then. claimed,
Reference will now wherein v Figure 1 is a vertical sectional View of a Wash boiler in accordance with this inven tion, Fig. 2 is a plan of the same, and Fig. 3 is an enlarged vertical sectional view of the device used in connection with the boiler. A boiler in accordance with this invention comprises a tapering shell 1 having a flat bottom 2 that is suitably connected to the lower edges of the shell, while the upper edges of the shell have a wire reinforced edge 3. The shell 1 and the bottom plate 2 provide a receptacle similar to a bucket, and this receptacle constitutes the Wash boiler.
Detachably arranged Within the wash boiler is a draining device comprising a circular fiat plate 4 provided with a plurality of circular openings 5 and arranged in these be had to the drawing,
openings are the upper ends of tubular legs 6 that support the plate a in a superimposed position relatively to the bot-tom plate 2. The tubular legs 6 serve as drain pipes and the upper ends of said legs are soldered or otherwise connected to the bottom side of the plate 4, as at 7. The plate 4 has a central opening 8 and mounted in said opening is the lower end of a tubular vertical handle rod 9. The handle rod 9 is retained within the opening 8 of the plate t by solder 10 or other fastening means and the upper end of said handle rod extends above the, upper edge of the boiler and has a handlell. The handle rod 9 is perforated, as at 12, said perforations constituting drain openings, and the lower end of the rod terminates at a point above the bottom plate 2, whereby wate'rcan readily drain from the hollow handle rod. I
The plate at is approximately the same diameter as the shell, adjabent to the bottom plate 2 and it is upon this superimposed platethatclothes can be placed for boiling purposes, After the clothes have been boiled the plate 4 can be elevated through the medium of the handle 11 and water from the clothes can drain through the perforations 12 and the tubular legs 6.
The handle 11 can be made of wood or an insulation material and the remainder of the boiler of light and durable noncorrodible material.
What I claim is The combination with a wash boiler, of a superimposed plate, tubular legs supporting said plate above the bottom of said wash boiler, and a tubular handle rod connected to said plate and extending above the upper edge of said boiler.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
