JOHN W. YELTOl T, OF FLORENCE, COLORADO.
FIGURE TOY AND HARMONICA-DEMONSTRATOR.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that 1, JOHN W. YELTON, citizen of the United States, residing at Florence, in the county of Fremont and State of Colorado, have invented new and useful Improvements in Figure Toys and Harmonica-Demonstrators, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to a figure toy and more particularly to the class of figure toys and harmonica demonstrators.
The primary object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character in which a harmonica may be played for demonstrating the variety of tones that may be had therefrom without necessitating the placing of the harmonica in the mouth of a person, the device being adapted for mounting upon a show case either interiorly or exteriorly thereof and is readily operable when it is desired to demonstrate the quality of a harmonica by the sounding of the same.
Another object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character in which the chords in a harmonica may be tested before a purchaser without necessitating the application of the harmonica to the mouth of the vender or vendee, thereby assuring each harmonica sanitary to the purchaser thereof.
A further object of the invention is a provision of a device of this nature in which the harmonicamay be sounded for the testing thereof and that will attract the attention of a prospective purchaser when the harmonica is being played and demonstrated on the device.
A further object of the inventionis the provision of a device of this character which is simple in construction, neat in appearance, reliable and efficient in its purpose and cheap in manufacture.
WVith these and other objects in View the invention consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter more fully described in detail, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed out in the claim hereunto appended.
In the drawings :Figure 1 is a fragmentary perspective View of the end portion of a show case showing the device applied thereto and constructed in accordance with the invention, with the harmonica held in position relative thereto for the playing of the same. Fig. 2 is a fragmentary side Specification of Letters Patent.

elevation of the device, the same being partly broken away; Fig. 3 is an enlarged vertical sectional view through the device; Fig. 4. is a fragmentary side view of the bellows showing a cord connected thereto.
Similar reference characters indicate corresponding parts throughout the several views of the drawings.
Referring to the drawings by numerals, 5 designates the end portion of a show case of any ordinary well known construction and has fixed thereto a supporting board 6 on which is adapted to be detachably connected the demonstrating device, presently described.
The device comprises an air bellows 7, one cheek 8 of which is disposed adjacent to the end of the case and has its handle 9 engaged in a clip 10 fixed to the board (3 for the mounting of the bellows 7 upon the case whilethe other handle 9 is adapted to be engaged by the hand of a person for actuating the said bellows.
Mounted on the nozzle end 11 of the bellows 7 is the body 12 of a doll having in its head 13 at the crown portion thereof a rubber mouth piece 14, the latter being fixed in the crown of the head 13 in any suitable manner and is formed with an elongated opening 15 adapted to be bridged by a harmonica 16 which is of the ordinary well known construction so that upon actuating the bellows 7 the intake and exhaust of air to and from the same will cause the sound ing of the harmonica for demonstrating the tone qualities thereof thus in this manner obviating the necessity of placing said harmonica in the mouth of a person for the testing thereof.
The body 12 of the doll is provided with stationary and movable arms 17 and 18 respectively, the movable arm being pivoted to the body in any suitable manner and is formed with a rear extension 19 to which is connected a flexible cord 20, the same being fixed in an eye screw 21 mounted in the movable cheek 8 of the bellows 9, the cord 20 being trained through a guide eye 22 mounted in the other cheek of the said bellows so that upon actuating the bellows the cord will be moved for the raising and lowering of the arm 18 of the doll and in this manner attracting attention, and thus amusing an observer.
From the foregoing it is thought that the construction and operation of the invention will be apparent, and therefore, a more extended explanation has been omitted. lVhat is claimed is The combination with a bellows, of a hollow body simulating an image and having a head provided with a resilient crown, the said head and crown being provided with alining openings and communicating with the body, a nozzle projecting from the bel-. lows and inserted Within the hollow body, an arm pivotally connected with the body, a guide eye mounted in one cheek of the bellows, and a flexible connection between the movable arm and the other cheek of the bellows and trained through the guide eye, whereby on operating the bellows air will be supplied through the body, head and crown, and the arm moved simultaneously therewith.
In testimony whereof I atfiX my. signature in presence of two witnesses.
