Be it known. that I, Ovn- L. GAMMEL- GAARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Attleborcfi in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bracelets, of Which-the. following is a speci-- fication.

My invention relatesto bracelets of the lazy tongs .type and is designed especially as an improvement of,the structure set forth in my prior United States Patent No.

The essential objects of my invention are to strengthen the connection of the setting member with the cross arms of the bracelet band so=as to avoid the-use-of solder, or the necessity of riveting or swaging the connecting member to the shell of the setting member whereby the shell is defaced and the union insecure; also to avoid the non-uniformity in appearance and action of an arm adjacent the setting members of half the length of the cross arms of the bracelet f pensive the detailed construction of the set-- band; and to simplify and render less exting, member and its connection with the bracelet band.

What I claim is 1.- The combination with the crossed arms of a lazy-tongs bracelet, of a setting memsitely disposed openings, an ornamental the front of'the shell, a base plate ln the; rear of the shell and engaged thereby, a guard plate within the shell pressing against the ornamental member, and engaged by the base plate, arms integral with the guardplate extending through the openings in the shell, extension plates integral with the arms exterior of the shell,

The combination with the crossed arms of a lazy-tongs bracelet, of a shell provided with diametrically opposite openings in its side, inturned flanges upon the front-portion of the shell, an ornamental member mounted within the flange and engaging the inner face of said flange, a conical guard plate in the shell having its retracted portion in contact with the inner face ofthe ornamental member and engaged by the shell and held thereby, arms integralwith the guard plate extending through the openings, extension plates upon the arms, and pivots in the ends of the extension plates engaging the ends of the crossed arms,
