4The nature of myinvention consists in the oonstruction and arrangement of Aan adjustable feed-spout or auxiliary hopper, to be attached ,under the usual mill-hoppers andtalso to all kinds of drills for sowing grain and fertilizers.

By theruse of the screw O and hinged 'door B, it will be seen that 'the lower end, or rather the opening in the lower end of the hopper, is increased oddimin? Yished at will, thus regulating the quantity of grain passing through the same.

To prevent waste of grain at the sides of the hopper, the door B may be provided with jaws to work with said door or lip. A

This device is intended to supersede the old clumsy shoe under mill-hoppers, and may also be used on all lkinds of drills for sowing grain and fertilizers, .aswell as ou steam machinery for like purposes.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is'- The arrangement of the hopperA, hinged door B, metalframe D, screw O, and bar E, all constructed and operating substantially as set forth.
