Be it known that I, MAnin D. Ananke, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lawton, in the county of Ramsey, vState of North Dakota, have .invented certain new and useful Improvements in Envelope; and I do hereby. declare the following tobe a fu clear, and exact description ofthe invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

This invention relates to new anduseful improvements in envelops.

The primary object ofthe invention is to forni the envelop of 4a blank of no vel formation and which can be stamped from sheet material', the invention being'especially designed for producing a box like envelop whereby increased packing space is provide lfor the sending of parcels or articles of merchandise through the mails.

Another object of the invention is to construct anenvelop havingconsiderably more vpacking space than an ordinary 'envelop and also toprovide novelmeans for holdingthe Venvelop closed.

With the above andother objects in view,

It is also obvious that the plate Q9 and the tongue 32 may be formed from single blank sections of metal so that the same can be cheaply manufactured and also readily attached to the envelop. It will also be evident that when the envelop is folded and the top flap Q3 is folded along the central longitudinal crease 35 that the end Atongues' 2T will fold inwardly and engage in the pockets formed b v the inclined folding lines 2l in the side flaps so as to retain the envelops in shape when they are compactly folded for shipment and in which ease they will occupy a, minimum amount of space.

An envelop formed of a blank comprising a front. portion and a back portion, a bottom portion connecting said front and back portions and having integral side tongues., side flaps formed with the back portion and having supplemental flaps secured to the front portion, said side tongues being secured exteriorly'to the lower portions of said flaps to form a box like receptacle. a top flap carried by the back portion and having side tongues secured exteriorlyto the upper portions of said side flaps and a closing flap carried by the top flap and secured to the front portion.
