Another object of the invention is to provide means for protecting the branches contacting with the heater against being burned or injured by the heat.

A still further feature of the invention resides in the provision of means for protecting the flame against strong air currents, thereby preventing the flame from being extinguished by the wind.

ith the above and other objects in view, the invention has particular relation to certain novel features of construction and ar rangcment of parts. an example of which is given in this specification and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein the figure is a sectional side elevation of the complete device.

3. A device of the character described including a fuel receptacle and an upstanding flange extending around the top thereof, a

burner carried by said receptacle, a cylindrical shaped flue surrounding said burner and supported thereon and having its upper end open, a metallic band resting upon said receptacle within said flange, said flange and band having coinciding orifices on each side, a cylindrical body composed of Wire mesh fabric secured to the upper edge of said band and surrounding said flue, a circular shaped deflector secured in said cylindrical shaped body and above said flue, a rim depending from the edge of said deflector and extending below the upper end of the flue, a bail for said device extending across the top thereof and down opposite sides, means securing the bail to the cylindrical body, and a hook carried by each free end of said hail, said hooks extending through the coinciding orifices of said flange and band and securing the same together.

' 4. A device of the character described including 'a fuel receptacle, a burner carried by the top of said receptacle, a cylindrical flue surrounding said burner and supported 'thereon and having its upper end open, a

metallic band resting upon said receptacle and surrounding said burner and flue, whose upper edge extends above the burner, means for securing said'band to said receptacle, a cylindrical shaped body composed of wire mesh fabric secured to the upper edge of said band and surrounding said flue and extending above the same, and a circular shaped deflector secured above the flue, whose rim depends below the upper end of said flue.
