SHADE-FIXTURE.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Feb. 25, 1913.
Application filed September 25, 1912. Serial No. 722,254.
T aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEANDER IV. HEALY,
a citizen of the United States, residing at Troy, county of Iiensselaer, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Shade-Fixtures, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to such improvements and consists of the novel construction and combination of parts hereinafter described and subsequently claimed.
Reference may be had to the accompanying drawings, and the reference characters marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Similar characters refer to similar parts in the several figures therein.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a front view of the upper corner of a window-casing showing one end of a shade-roller supported by my improved fixture attached to said casing. Fig. 2 is a similar view of the shade-fixture detached, with the members of the fixture all in alinement with one another. Fig. 3 is a cross-section of the same taken on the broken line 3-3 in Fig. 2.
The principal object of the invention is to afford a wide range of adjustment, both vertical and longitudinal, of a shade-roller bracket upon a window-casing.
Referring to the drawings wherein the invention is shown in preferred form, 1, is a window-casing upon which is fixedly mounted by screws, 2; a plate, 3, having a horizontal slot, 4; and 5, is a link having an offset shank, 6, apertured to receive a screwbolt, 7, which passes therethrough and is adjustable longitudinally of the slot, 4, in the plate 3. A nut, 8, on the screw'bolt, 7 permits the link, 5, to be locked securely to the plate, 8, in different positions of horizontal adjustment upon the plate, 3, and clifferent positions of rotative adjustment around the screw-bolt 7 The link, 5, is provided with a longitudinal slot, 9, adapted to receive a screw-bolt, 10, which passes through an aperture in the shank, 11, of the sl1ade-rollerbracket, 12, said screw-bolt, 10, being adjustable longitudinally of the slot and being secured in the adjusted position by a nut, 13. The bracket, 12, can thus be locked securely upon the link, 5, in different positions of rotative adjustment around the screw-bolt, 10, thus permitting the bracket, 12, to be so adjusted that its trunnion-bearing end, will be squarely presented to the shade-roller trunnion in any position of rotative adjustment of the link 5.
The plate, 3, is offset to provide sufficient space for the nut 8.
By offsetting the link, 5, the screw-bolt connection, 10, can be swung directly over the plate, 3, if this be found necessary to secure the desired adjustment.
In Fig. 1, I have shown by solid lines and indicated by dotted lines, three of the many different adjustments of which the device is capable.
That I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. In a shade-fixture and in combination, a longitudinally slotted plate; a slotted link having a pivotal connection with said plate adjustable longitudinally of the slot therein; and a shade-roller-bracket having a pivotal connection with said link adjustable longitudinally of the slot therein.
2. In a shade-fixture and in combination, a plate adapted to be attached to a windowcasing and provided with a longitudinal slot; a link provided with a slot and having an offset shank provided with an aperture; a pivotal bolt-and-nut connection between the apertured shank of the link and said plate adjustable longitudinally of the slot in said plate; a shade-roller-brackethaving an offset, apertured shank; and a pivotal screw-and-nut connection between the apertured shank of the shade-bracket and said link, adjust-able longitudinally of the slot in said link.
In testimony whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this 21st day of September, 1912.
LEANDER W. MEALY.
