Be it known that L'Monnocu McG1u-:ooR, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Bellet'ourche, in the county of Butte and State of South Dakota, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fencedosts, of which the following is a specificationv` reference being had to the accompanying d awings This invention relates to certain novel improvements in fence posts.

The primary object of my invention is to provide a composite fence post arranged to removably hold a wooden stapio-receivingr core.

Another object is to provide a composite fence post with a middle, lengthwise running aperture, ending in a key slot, said aperture to receive a board which is fixed by means of a wedge driven into the key slot.

With these and other objects in view, the present invention consists in the combination and arrangement of part.' as will be hereinafter more fully described and particularly pointed ontl in the appended claim, it being understood that changes in the specific structure ,shown and described, may be made within the scope of the claim, without; departing from the spirit of the invention.

In the raising ot' swine. poultry and eertain other stock where the animals are kept in runs, it is 'found necessauv to remove the animals for certain periods to allow the vegetation to get a fresh start. Further. it is often desirable to plow the runs in order to turn the soil.

In my present invention, yl provide a 'lence post which is non-rotting, being made ot reinforced concrete, having a centrally positioned .tot into which is fitted and secured a wooden board, to which the tence fabric is stapled or otherwise secured. This board forms a core which is firmly secured by means of a wedge.

In the use of my fence, when it is desired to change the animals from one run to another, it is simply necessary to knock out the securing wed ejes, remove the cores, make' a row of the tence fabric and connected cores, and insert the cores into another set of t'ence posts. From this, it will be understood that one fence fabric may be used with two .sets of fence posts, so that while one plot is in use, the other has an opportunity to revive. All that is necessary is to set the 'tl-.nce posts equidistant apart in every instance. '.lhis method further permits the t'encc fabric being reversed if it is found that the lower edge shows signs of rusting.

In the accompanying drawings, the numeral, 1, indicates a fence post of conventional conformation and ot suitable length, made of concrete, havingT the middle, lengthwise running slot, L), which above ends in the bevel-edged key-way. Il. ln order to strengthen the post` l embed therein a wire netting reinloreement, ii, the top, (i, of 'which is arranged to lie close to the upper surface ot' the key-way, 3, as shown in Fig. 2.

Arranged to be placed into the slot, 2, is a board, 7, which forms a core. it being desirable that this board is ot' a thickness less than the width ot the slot, Q, so that should the. board swell, no iniurv will be done to the post. From the foregoing. it will be noticed that the entire 'tence 'l'abric with the connected cores. 7, can be instantly removed t'rom the posts, VIl. in simply knocking out the wedges, S. These wedges, S, may be made of any suitable material.
