To all. whom it may conce'm Be it knownthat we, WILLIAM G. Beer and MAN-SELL SYMONS, citizens of the. United "States; -and residents ofOlyphant borough, county 'of Lackawanna, State" of {Pennsyl- Vania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in 'Nosing-Planes," of which the following is a full and clear specificacutting edge of the bit extenda'and the side tion, reference-being had to the accompanying drawing, in 'whichi Figure 1 is a view partly in side elevation and partly in vertical sectionof, our improved plane; Fig. 2 is a front end elevation thereoit'; and Figs. 3, 4, 5 and 6 detail views of-parts hereinafter described. Thisinvention. has relation to improvements' upon that type of hand plane which is provided with a longitudinal channel in its working face curved incross section and a bit having a similarly curved notch in its. cutting edge whereby the plane is adapted for planing nosings, and the object ,of the present improvements is to adapt the plane for working upon curved surfaces of different radii, as more fully hereinaftersetforth.
In the drawing, a designates the body of the plane grooved longitudinally at Z) in its working face as-usual. To clamp the bit in place we employ the usual clamp plate c and clamp screws f a and g.
