Referring to the clrewingsfin which siini-- l reference characters cle e eerie- Sifliitllflg' parts throughout the sesemlviews, is the blade sn'pperting frame my ZZv zer which is preferably of sheet mete-l anal termed with 2'. flange 4 en ene'etlge end guard lugs 0r tinge-rs 7, on its epposite etlge. The flange 4 is provided with an aperture near either entl and said apertures are screw threaded and adapted to teeeive thumbscrews 5, for e purpose hereinafter made clearly apparent. The other end 0?? the frame is cut away at intervals to form a plurality of fingers 7 which are curved, in the manner indicated in Fig. 2, so that the'encls of said. fingers are in' the plane at the cutting blade.
In practic 1 preferably emplojr a razor blade provided with a single cutting edge, the oppesite eclge of said blade being provided with 2. pair of notches 8 adapted to receive the ends of the thnnil c1'ews 5,.

In the figures of the drawing I have indicated in dotted lines several positions which may be occupied by the handle and from the foregoing description it will be seen thatthe handle may be adjusted to any desired position in relation to the frame, as it is only necessary to loosen the end 11 and swing the handle to the desired position, whether up or down, or to either side, and again tighten said end.
Vhile I have shown the preferred form of my invention, I desire it to be understood that various modifications may be made therein without departing from the spirit and scope of my invention.
VVh'at I claim as new is:
1. In a safety razor, a. blade supporting plate having a semicircular loop thereon, said loop being circular in cross section, and a handle including a clamping -member which includes a stem having one end bifurcated and being screw threaded at the other end, the furcations of the bifurcated end having their adjacent inner surfaces provided with opposed arcuate recesses the axes of which extend at rightangles to the longitudinal centerofthe stem, said loop being seated in said opposed recesses, the outer surfaces of, said furcations converging in the direction of the screw thread, .a sleeve surrounding the stem and adapted for longitudinal movement along said converging outer surfaces for forcing the arcuate recesses into forceful gripping relation with the. semicircular loop, and a handle section in engagement with the screw threaded end of the stem and coacting therewith for moving the sleeve longitudinally.
2.110 a safety razor ablade, a blade supporting "frame formed of sheet metal bent into such shape that a flange is formed on one edge and. a series of guard lugs are formed on its opposite edge, the edge, of the blade opposite to its cutting edgebeing (lisposed .adjacent to said flange, said flange having screw threaded apert-urcsat its op posite ends, thumb screws in the threaded apertures and impinging upon the blade and being adapted for adjusting either end of the latter independently of the other end thereof, a spring clip having latches formed on the opposite ends thereof, said latches being engaged with the rear surface of the frame and coac'ting therewith for holding the blade on the frame, and a handle socured on said rear surface.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
