removed from thev pail or vessel by tivo lugs or pins on the inside of -the top of' said pnil or vessel, made by v inserting wire lugs'xor pins on each opposite side of sa-idnside top of pail, &c., or, as shown by the drawing and herewith presented, by elongating and bendin in seid pail-top the metallic ears of said pail or vessel to form such lugs or pins, and the saune to pass through the aforesaid slots or breaks, and t and run smoothly in the aforesaid groove in the cover.
What I claim as my improvement in covers for pails, tirk'ins, &c., is
