Be it known that I, VVALDEMAR Kore, a citizen of the United States, residing at the borough of Manhattan, in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented an Improvement in Elastic Fabrics,

- of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to elastic fabric of parallel sided form, with the object of pro viding fabric suitable for use between parts under tension, in gores of .corsets, slippers, etc. and wherever such forms of elastic are useful in the arts and manufactures.

In the article of my invention I provide the elastic portions with borders or edges of inelastic fabric forming sewing sections, and in the continuous fiat strip as woven the inelastic sewing sections are arranged intermediate the elastic sections transversely or in diagonal reversed positions adapting the strip to be cut up through the inelastic sewing sections into shaped pieces of suitable configuration for filling the gores of corsets, slippers etc. In each of these parts the elastic strands run parallel with the warp threads and in the sewing sections the elastic and usual Warp threads are bound together both by the usual Weft threads and by additional and intermediate weit threads, whereby the elastic warps are firmly held in place and slipping thereof prevented.

I prefer to form the elastic fabric of my invention in continuous lengths, which are adapted to be severed at intermediate points or cut up into suitable shaped sections.

In the fabric of my invention the warp threads, of cotton or other suitable. material, extend lengthwise of the fabric, The elastic strands run parallel to the hne of and between groups of warp threads and preferably extend from selvage to selvage.
