Villen, a citizen of the United States, residing at Fillwood City, in the county of Lawrence and State et illennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful lni] n' ireiiie1its in Curtain-Stretchers, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the aeeoinpanying drawings.

This invention relates to new and usetul improvements in curtain st 1etehers and has for its objectto provide a novel curtain stretching traine upon which lace curtains, draperies and fabrics can be mounted for bleaching dr. lng and repairing.

Another object of the invention is to provide a curtain stretching frame which can loe quickly folded up so as to occupj,7 a very small space when not in use and can be readily set up and securely clamped when it is desired to use the saine.

A iturther object of the intention is to provide a device of this character which will possess advantages in points of etliciency and durability, is inexpensive et manufacture and at the saine tinie is sirnple in construct-ion and operation.

llllith the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel features ot construction and the combination ano arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, pointed out iu the claims and shown in the accompanying drawings, in which,

Referring niore particularly to the drawings, l indicates the sectional side bars and 2 indicates the sectional end bars. he seetional side bars l are connected by means of the hinges 3, and the end bars are connected by the hinges 4C. Said side bars being hinged to allow the inner ends of the sections to fold inwardly, and the end bars are hinged to allow the inner ends of the seetions to fold downwardly. rlhe side bars l and the end bars 2 are provided on one side thereof with the grooves 5, having the under out side walls 6. Clamping iiienibers ll are provided and adapted to engage the frame at each corner and clamp the bars against sliding moveniont. These clampingmembers are stamped troni sheet metal or other suitable material into the substantially rectangular plates lf2 which are bent at right angles and provided with the recesses 13 to forni the spaced arms llt. These arms le are to be disposed upon the upper and lo-wer sides ot the bars l and 2.

Cani members are pivotally mounted on the arms la and adapted to engage in the recess 16 formed in one end ot the sliding blocks 7 to hold the bars against sliding movement. These cam members l5 are arranged on the plates l2 so that one Cain engages the blocks carried by the side bars and the other cam engages the blocks carried by the end bars. Hooks l? are secured'in the inner edge et the bars l and Q whereby the curtain or other fabric can be easily secured to the traine. lt will be obvious that this traine can be readily adjusted to various sizes of curtains and other fabrics which may be readily secured to the traine. ln folding the traine., the end pieces are folded so that the side bars lie parallel and the end nieces are then folded in between the side bars, the side bars are then tolded so that the traine will be entirely folded as shown in Fig. To untold the traine and set the saine up ready ttor use the operation of folding is reversed.

From the above description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it will be seen that l have provided a simple and etlicient trame which is Vinexpensive of manufact-ure and at the saine time is simple in construction and operation. i

Having thus described this invention,\vhat is claimed is l. n a device of the character described, the combination of a frame comprising side and end bars pivotally connected and adapted for longitudinal and lateral movement, clamping members adapted to be applied to said bars to hold the same against movement, said clamping members each comprising a substantially rectangular plate bent at right angles and provided with recesses, spaced arms formed by said recesses adapted to be disposed upon each side orn the bars, and cam members pivotally connected to said arms and adapted to engage with the bars to hold the same against movement.

2. ln a device of the character described, the combination of a frame comprising side and end bars, sliding blocks carried by said side and end bars, the blocks carried by said end bars being pivotally connected to the bloc-ks carried by the side bars to permit longitudinal and lateral movement of said bars.

In a device of the character described, the combination of a frame comprising sectional side and end bars, the sections of each oi" said bars being hingedly connected and adapted to close in a compact form, sliding blocks carried by the side and end bars, the blocks carried by the end bars being pivotally connected to the blocks carried by the side bars to permit longitudinal and lateral movement of said bars, and means for holding the same in an adjusted position.

In a device of the. character described, the combination of a frame comprising side and end bars, said bars being provided with longitudinal grooves having undercut side Walls,sliding blocks disposed in said grooves, flanges formed on the sides of said bloclrs and disposed in the undercut side Walls, the blocks carried by the end bars being pivotally connected to the blocks carriedA by the side bars to permit longitudinal and lateral adjustment of said bars, and means torholding said bars in an adjusted position.

5. In a device of the character described, the combination of a frame comprising side and. end bars, sliding locks carried by said side and end bars, the blocks carried by said end bars being pivotally connected to the blocks carried by the side bars to permit longitudinal and lateral adjustment of said bars, and clamping members detaehably secured to said bars to hold the same in an adjusted position.

In a device of the character described, the combination of a trame comprising sectional side and end bars, the sections of each of said bars being hingedly connected and adapted to told into compact form, said side and end bars being provided with longitudinal grooves, having undercut side Walls, sliding blocks disposed in said grooves, ianges formed on the side edges of said blocks and disposed in said undercut side Walls, the blocks carried by said end bars being piro-tally connected to the blocks carried by the side bars to permit longitudinal and lateral adjustment of said bars, and means for holding said bars in an adjusted position.

7. ln a device of the character described, the combination or" a frame comprising side and end bars, sliding blocks carried by said bars, the blocks carried by said end bars being pivotally connected to the blocks car-- ried by the side bars to permit lonLux .udlnal and lateral movement of said bars, lamping members adapted to be applied to said bars to hold the saine against. movement, said clamping members each comprising a substantially rectangular plate bent at right angles and provided With recesses spaced arms formed by said recesses, adapted to be disposed upon each side of said bars, cam members pivotally connected to said arms, and said sliding blocks having recesses formed in one of their ends to receive said cam members.

8. ln a device ot the character described, the combination of a frame comprising sine and end bars, said bars being provided with longitudinal grooves having undercut side Walls, slidingbloclrs disposed in said grooves, flanges formed on the sides of said blocks and disposed in Vthe undercut side Walls, the blocks carried by the end bars being pivotally connected to the blocks carried by the side bars to permit longitudinal and lateral adjustment oi said bars, clamping members adapted to be applied to said bars to hold the same against movement, said clamping members each comprising a substantially rectangular plate bent at right angles and provided with recesses, spaced arms formed by said recesses adapted to be disposed upon each side of the bars, cam members pivotally secured to said arms, and said sliding blocks ha *ing recesses formed in one of their ends to receive said cam members.
