GASTON, of oineimiati, inthe county of Hamilton and State of Oliio, have inventedanewand useful Improvement in Sta-inps and 0anoeleis for Post-ottices; and I do herebyde- -clare that the .followingisa full and exact descriptionv thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.-`l

My'iuveiition consists of the combination of t-wo l heads on opposite' ends of the handle when the' heads are connected bythe cam, steun-or rod, and also -in i the combination of a camwitli the head ofa stamp for holding type, letters, or figures. `ln the construction of my improved post-office sta-nip and caneeler, the handle A is provided with two heads,

B andO, which maybe used for different purposes.

The upper head, as shown inthe drawing, is to have upon its face both a stamp and a caiiceler, but the lower head, C, may have the face of the ordinary stamp,

- The type origures seen in fig. 5 are held in placeby means of the thumb-screw l in the usual maii'ner.' The motion of the cam is shown in dotted lines Ain iig. 3.

The canceler has asniallpiojection or liook,R,-i ig. 2, which locks under a lip, S, in tliecam-head, and thus prevents tliecancelcr `from falling out, when the cam is loosened to remove or replace the letters, type,
