IMPROVEMENT IN MALT-DRIERS.
The Schedule referred to in these Lettere P'atent and making part of the same.
To all whom it may concern Beit known that I, WILLIAM L. PHILLIPS, of Normal, in the county of McLean and in the State ot' Illinois, have invented certain ncw and usel'ul Improvements in Malt-Drier; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying vdrawing and to theletters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specifica-tion. v
The nature of my invention consists in the construction and arrangement of a kiln for drying m'alt, by the use of warm or heated air being forced downward through the malt, and drawn out ot' the kiln.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will now proceed to describe its construction ltliperation, referring to the annexed drawing, in w 1c Figure 1 is a longitudinal vertical section, and

From' this box the airis drawn by means of a fau or pump, E, connected with said box-by a duct, G. \Yhen more'tha-n one floor is used for drying, each lchamber is connected with the fan.
