LOUIS RUGMRD, OF SAN EBRUNO, CALIFORNIA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO ERNST A.
' BOHM, OF SAN BRUNO, CALIFORNIA.
s'rovn To all whom it may concern" Be it known that I, LOUIS RUcAAno, a citizen of the United States, residing at San Bruno, in the county of San Mateo and State of California, have invented ce rtain new and useful Improvements in certain parts and combinations of parts,
shown in the accompanying drawings, de-
scribed in the following specification and claimed in the appended claims.
In the drawings Figure 1 is a plan view of my device, showing it attached to the top of a stove parts of said device herein after mentioned being illustrated in section. Fig. 2 is a perspective view of a portion of the device, the said view being broken. Fig. 3 is a sectional view of one of the supports of said device having a locking member as hereinafter described. Fig. t
is a' detail view-of the sliding locking plate hereinafter ment-ioned.- Fig. 5 is a detail of the upper portion of one of the posts containing said locking plate.
In the drawings, 1 represents the top of a stove to which my said device is secured, the said device or frame having two rear supports or posts 2 and 3 and two front supports or posts 4 and 5. On said supports are placed a front horizontal bar 6 and a rear horizontal bar 7, said bars running longitudinally, and said posts also support transverse bars 8 and 8, said transverse bars running endwise to said bars running longi- 10 fitted to enter slots 1] in said bar 7,'and
at the opposite end having slots 12 engageable with grooves 13 formed between transverse ribsfacing inwardly in the said bar 6. The ends of the rear bar 7 rest in .verti'tal recesses 14 in posts 2 and 3, and midway said bar 7 is provided with a bent portion 15 projecting inwardly so as to surround the Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed October 26, 1911. Serial No. 656,986.
By. said bars 6 and 7 are supported interchangeable bars 9 having tongues Patented Oct 29,1912.
inwardly projecting portion of a Stovepipe or smoke stack 16 as shown.
The two end bars 8 "are supported respectively in vertical recesses or slots 17 in posts.
2 and 4, and vertical recesses or slots 17 in posts 3 and 5. The front bar 6 is su ported by placing on end in a socltet 18 in the post a and the 0 her in a recess 19 in the post 5. The said front bar :6 is held from upward movement by a slide 20, and the slide 20 is heldin place by a press plunger 21 penetrating a finger hole in said slide as shown in Fig.3, the plunger being downwardly curved end of said groove, the
slide 20 is kept fronr withdrawal from the undercut grooves 25 in post 5, wherein the I beveled longitudinal edge of the said slide is supported and is slidable.
Holes 26 in the interchangeable bars are provided so that said bars may be hung on hooks thereby when not in use and alsbto reduce the weight of said bars, the hooks penetrating the said-holes in the hanging of the bars.
A handle 27 is provided for the front of the frame, wherebv the cook may support himself during an excessive rollin of the vessel, the handle being secured by br'ackets 28, which the'ends thereof said brackets having inwar l projecting- (penet-rate, the
bars 29, having reduced threa ed ends 29' penetrating bar 6 and secured by nuts as shown.
Pots 39 represented by dotted lines in" Fig. .1 are shown to illustrate the manner of their support by engagement with the sides' of the fixed and interchan cable bars as described, including short %ars 31, each of which is also provided with a slot 12, whereby each short bar is solely supported by ens gagement with one of grooves 13 in bar 6.
The short bars 31 enable a restricted area of thev surface of the range to be used, leaving the wider space beyond their inward ends for use forcooking utensils having larger dimensions than those intended to be supported thereby, besides said short bars consisting of a plurality of vertical posts,
one of said posts being secured at each of the corners of said stove, transverse bars extending between and supported by the -upperportions of said posts; a bar having a plurality of apertures extending through sides, and extending longitudinally between and supported by the posts on one side of said stove, and a bar having a plurality of vertical grooves in one of its sides extending lt'ingitudinally between and sup- I ported by the posts on the o])]' osite sideot engaging said grooves.
said stove, and a plurality of interehange able bars having ends provided with tongues l'novably penetrating said {L\')Ql'l'll10s and having in proxninty to their opposite ends downwardly opening vertical slots niovably 2. ln eombination with a stove a frame eonsisting ot' a plurality of vertical posts, one of said posts being secured at each (d -the corners of said stove, transverse bars tklltl'ltlillg between and supported by the upper portions of said posts, a bar having a plurality ol apertures extending through its sides, and extending longittulinally be tween and supported by the posts on one side ot' said stove, a bar having a plurality of vertical grooves in one (it its sides extending longitudinally between and support ed by the posts on the opposite side ol said stove, and a plurality ot interehangeable bars having ends provided with tongues l l l movably penetrating said apertures and having in proxin'iity to their opposite erids downwardly opening vertical slots In'ovably engaging said grooves, and a plurality of interchangeable bars having in proximity to one of their ends downwardly opening \'crtieal slots slidably engagin said grooves.
3. ln eou'ibination with a stove a frame consisting of a plurality of vertical posts, one of said posts being secured at. each of the corners of said Steve thereto, transverse bars extending between and supported by the upper portions of said posts, and bars running longitudinally with said stove and supported by the upper portions ot-said posts, and bars betweensaid transverse bars am removably supported by said bars running longitudinally.
l'. in a stove, in COlIlblIltltlOIl, a post projeeting u 'nvardly at one of the front corners of the stove and having a vertical recess extending dmvnwardly from the upper end oi said post, a slideway in the upper end above said reeess and extending longitudinally with the stove and a slot extending downwardly from said slide ay and opening inwardly in alinelnent with said slideway, a springpressed plunger in said recess, a slide in said slideway having an opening, said opening being ptaietrable by said plunger, and a bar having an end seatal'ile. in said slot. in testimony whereof l atlix my signature in presenee of two witnesses.
