To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AUGUSTE Rnrorrsnr, hotel-keeper, a citizen of Switzerland, res1ding at Geneva, Canton of Geneva, in the Confederation of Switzerland, have 111- vented certain new and useful Improvements in Boilers for Cooking Apparatus, of which the following is a specification.
The present invention concerns the construction of boilers to be used in cooking apparatus such as is described in my patent application No. 600121 dated Dec. 30th, 1910, from which the present appllcatlon 1s a divisional application, or in other analogous apparatus.
The invention consists of certain arrangements of parts which will now be described with reference to the annexed drawing showing a cooking apparatus with a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the novel features of which are pointed out in the appended claims.
Figure l is a vertical section of the apparatus and Fig. 2 a horizontal section along line A-B of Fig. 1.
The boiler shown on the drawing comprises a cylindrical outer part constituting a casing or jacket a which is connected at its upper and lower partwith a cylindrical inner part or chimney Z), provided at its lower part with water pipes 72 which increase the heating surface of the boiler and the rapidity with which the same can get up steam. At their lower ends, the outer and inner parts a. b, are provided with flanges between which is placed a packing ring 0; Said flanges are further pressed between rings (Z fastened together by means of screws a passing through holes of the outer ring (Z and of the flanges of a and b and screwed in holes, provided in protruding parts (Z of the inner ring (Z. In order to facilitate the mounting of the boiler, the said inner ring is preferably made of two or a greater number of parts as shown in Fig. 2. At its upper end, the inner part b carries a ring f with protruding flange. Between such protruding flange and a ring 7 screwed on f is pressed a flange of the upper end of the cas ing a or outer part of the boiler. The same is provided with steam outlet cocks and water outlets to deliver steam and hot water for cooking purposes and with various appliances as waste-cock, steam gage and cooking appliances which may be of any desired type whatever. The boiler may be heated by means of gas burners g or of any other desired heating device whatever.
I claim as my invention:
1. In a vertical boiler for cooking apparatus, a casing comprising an outer cylinder, and an inner cylinder generally concentric therewith, an internal flange at the lower end of the outer cylinder, a ring placed over the said flange, an external flange on the inner cylinder, a ring below the said external flange, a packing ring between the said flanges, and a series of bolts securing said flanges and rings together.
2. In a vertical boiler for cooking apparatus, a casing comprising an outer cylinder, and an inner cylinder generally concentric therewith, an internal flange at the lower end of the outer cylinder, a ring placed over the said flange, an external flange on the inner cylinder, a ring below the said external flange, a packing ring between the said flanges, a series of bolts securing said flanges and rings together, and means for securing the top portions of the said outer and inner cylinders together.
3. In a vertical boiler for cooking apparatus, a casing comprising an outer cylinder,-
and an inner cylinder generally concentric therewith, a series of pipes extending transversely at different levels across the said inner cylinder, an internal flange at the lower end of the outer cylinder, a ring placed over the said flange, an external flange on the inner cylinder, a ring below the said external flange, a packing ring between the said flanges, a series of bolts securing said flanges and rings together, and means for securing the top portions of the said outer and inner cylinders together.
4:. In a vertical boiler for cooking apparatus, a casing comprising an outer cylinder and an inner cylinder generally concentric therewith but having the upper end of materially reduced diameter, an internal flange at the lower end of the outer cylinder, an internal flange at the upper end of the outer cylinder, a divided ring fitting over the internal flange at the lower end of the outer cylinder, an external flange at the lower end of the inner cylinder, a ring below the said In testimony whereof I have affixed my signature 1n presence of two wltnesses.
