CURTAIN-BRACKET.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Jol-IN F. SOERANKO, a citizen of the United States, residing at Albi-a, in the State of Iowa, have invented new and useful Improvements in Curtain- Brackets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a co-mbined lace curtain pole, shade support, and po-le support for lambrequins or other draperies, the primary object being to provide a device of this class which is' longitudinally adjustable to accommodate themselves to the various sizes of windows, which is provided with means whereby the support may be attached to the window frame without marring the same.

The invention further co-nsists in the novel construction of window shades, rollers, and pole supports for lambrequins and draperies, as will hereinafter be more fully described and claimed.

In the drawings accompanying this speciiication, there has been illustrated a simple and preferred embodiment of the improvement, and in which drawings,-

Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view upon the line 3 8 of Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a similar sectional view upon the line 4-4 of Fig. 2.

Referring particularly to the accompanying drawings, it will be noted that my improvenient comprises essentially two independent members, each comprising slitted hollow rods which are indicated by the numerals l and 2. Both of the rods are constructed of some resilient material, and the rod 2 which telescopes within the rod l is adapted to exert a. pressure toward the said rod l, while the rod 1 is adapted to exert a pressure upon the rod 2. Each of the rods are provided with suitable attaching elements designated by the numeral 3. These attaching elements are each preferably constructed of a single strand of wire having a loop portion 4 which is wound around either of the rods and which has one of its extremities formed with an eye 5 which embraces the vertical extension of the said element. The members 7 are each formed of a single strand of suitable material, the same being provided with a loop 9 which encircles the rods. The lower member adjacent the said rloop 9 is projected upwardly a suitable distance and'has its end formed with an eye l0. The opposite strand provided by the loop is bent upwardly and outwardly over the member provided with the eye l0 and has its extremity formed with a downwardly curved end l1, the latter being adapted for the reception of the drapery rod while the eyes l0 of the lower member are adapted to receive the ends or pintles of a shade roller. The members 9 are connected with the rod sections in any desired manner, such as by a socket, indenting the loops within the rods or other analogous means. It will be noted that the said members being slitted and being constructed of resilient material will exert a tension upon the loops 9 to sustain the members 7 in a proper position thereon.

From the above description, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, the simplicity of the device, as well as the advantages thereof will, it is thought, be perfectly apparent to those skilled in the art to which such inventions appertain, it being understood, however, that while I have illustrated and described the preferred embodiment of the improvement as it now appears to me, changes in the minor details of construction which fall within the scope of the appended claim may be made, if desired.
