. The present invention'relates to improve.-

ments in magazine 'fire arms, the primary 'objectof the invention being the provision of a magazine'extension for the usual magazine of a repeatin fire-arm, and more-particularly a repeating shot gun.

A further object of the present invention is the provision of a magazineextension adapted to be placed detachably upon the end of the-usual magazine of a repeatlng shot gun, the same-being provided with a spring and a coupling member for connection tothe outer end of the usual magazine,

Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 designates a repeating shot gun provided with the, usual shell magazine 2 having the shell follower or cap 4 disposed therein and which is normallyheld toward the shells-S by the magazine feed spring 5which when.

- In order to retain the coupling member 8 and the spring 12 within the magazine extension 6, when the extension is notin use, the removable plug 1:3 is provided with the shouldered head 14 and said plug is insertible within the threaded socket of the coupling member 7.

Fromlthe foregoingdescription, taken in connection with the drawings it is evident that the present extension may be readily applied to arepeating shot gun by the removal of .the usual magazine cap (not shown) and the screwing of'the extension 6 so that the coupling member 7 will fit upon the'threaded end 3 of the magazine 2. It is simply necessary that the outer end 10 of the spring 5 be seated within the spring coupling 8, thus in reality forming with the two sprin s 5 and 12 a single spring for causing the automatic feeding of the shells S through from the main magazine of the repeating I shot gun isexceedingly simple.

What is claimed is:

1. The combination with a' magazine of a fire-arm, said magazine being provided with I an outer threaded end, and a spring mounted in said magazine, of a tube having an outer closed end and having co-acting threads in maln'magazine to form a magazine -exten sion, a. spring disposed in said tube and in V coiiperation with the spring of the main magazine, and a coupling membenfor the adjacent ends of the magazine sprlng and the spring disposed normally within the tube.
