To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, IAUL MAUsnR, royal privy commercial counc11or, a sub ect of the King of Wurttemberg, res1dm at Oberndorf-on-the-Neckar, in the Kingdom of Wurttember Germany, have invented certain new antF useful Improvements Relating to Automatic Firearms, of whlch the following is a full, clear, and. exact description.
The invention relates to firearms with detachable magazine and means for lockmg the breech block in the open position after the last shot from the magazine is fired.
The invention has for its object to provide improved means for holding the breech block in the open position when. the magazine is removed.
An embodiment of the invention isillustrated by way of example in the accompanying drawings, in which:-

A member is, which acts both as locking member and ejector, presents the form of a bell crank or triangular lever and is pivotally mountedat g in the frame 9 of the weapon. Its rear arm 70 serves to lock the breech block when the magazine is withdrawn, while its front arm 70 acts as an ejector when the magazine is inserted. The spring member k is acted upon by a spring 7 which is held in the frame by two clamps 9 formed on the frame and embrace the spring in the middle of its length on both sides (Fig. 1). This spring f serves also to hold the magazine to in the frame. For this purpose it is provided with a nose at its lower portion engaging a notch in the rear wall w lVhen the magazine w is inserted, the lever is is held by the rear wall to of the magazine acting on the projection k of the lever k (Fig. 7) against the pressure of the spring 7 of the magazine (Fig. 1).

When the magazine is again inserted in the firearm its rear wall w presses the projection I0 of the lever k upward, so that the lever is again rocked in the ejector position (Fig. 1) against the action of the spring 7.

What is claimed is 1. In a firearm, the combination of a breech block, a detachable magazine, a pivoted two-armed lever, one arm of said lever being adapted to act as an ejector when the magazine is in the frame, and the other arm being adapted to lock the breech block in the open position when the magazine is removed, and means for bringing said lever into locking engagement with said breech block, said means being adapted to be counteracted by said magazine to hold said lever out of locking engagement with said breech block. 2. In a firearm, the combination of a. breech block, a detachable magazine, a pivoted two-armed lever, one arm of said lever being adapted to act as an ejector when the magazine is in the frame and the other armbeing adapted to lock the breech block in the open position when the magazine is removed, and a spring for holding said magazine in the frame and adapted to press said lever into locking engagement with said breech block.
