TWINE.
Patented Sept. 10, 1912.
Original application filed October 7, 1909, Serial No. 521,538. Divided and this application led August 22, 1911. Seria1 No. 645,450.
To all lwhom t may concern.'
Be it known that I, JOHN DYMooK, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at Stockport, in the county of Chester and Kingdom of Great Britain, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Twine; and. I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such' as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same. u
This invention relates to improvements in that cla-ss of twine which consists of a fibrous core and a paper covering and the object of the invention is'to render such twine much stronger than hitherto has been the case.
This a plication is a division of application Serial No. 521538, filed October 7th, 1909.
I attain this object by the twine formed as illustrated in annexed drawing.
b is the fibrous core and a the paper covering, the former being made of such as cotton, jute, hemp, flax or the like ibrous material and the latter consisting of the ribbon of paper.
Instead of simply wrapping the paper ribbon aaround the core b with edges to overlap parallel with the core and then twisting the two as hitherto, according to this invention, the paper ribbon a is curled around the core b with ed es opposite each other turned inwardly be ore the twist is imparted to the pa er ribbon and core. This inward turning o the edges of the paper ribbon causes the paper `ribbon to become double at the edges which greatly strengthens the twine.
` I claim:
As a new article of manufacture, twine consisting of a textile fiber core and a paper ribbon curled around the said core with edges longitudinally opposite each other turned inwardly.
In testimony whereoiI I. have aixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
vJOHN DYMooK.
