zens of theUnited States, residing at Louis, in the State of Missouri, have invented a new and useful Improvement in t-he Manufacture of Clothing, of which the following is av specification.

Our invention relates to improvements in clothing manufacture, and has for an object lthe production of outergarments for men and Women which may bereadily shortened -or lengthened by the turning up o1' down of a fold or cuff disposed at the bottoni Another object is the provision of a neat and 'durable cuff whose formation lrequires a very small amount of cloth, and which can be produced quickly and at low expense. A further object is the 'provision of a cuttI so constructed as to dispense with the necessity 'for creasing that portion of the garment adjacent thereto, and which is unnoticeable when the garment is worn full length.

Other objects and advantages Will be apparent from a reading -of the following portion of this specification, `it being* understood that various changesin form, proportion, size, and minor details of construction, within the scope of the appended claims, maybe resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention. What we claim as new and desire to secure Letters Patent is 1. A device of the character "described, comprising a wide fold arranged at the bottom of a garment, and a comparatively narrow strip of stiff and resilient fabric secured to the inner surface of said fold, the por- 1.00 tion of said fold carrying said strip being' rebent and secured to the inner surface'of the body of the garment along a line substantially coincident with the lower edge of said strip.
