APPARATUS FOR DRYING H IR.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed April as, 1911.
Serial No. 628,435.
To all whom it may concern: 4
Be it known that I, IDA ScHoLz, a subject of the German Emperor, and resident of 2 Kirchstrasse, Altena, Westphalia, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements inApparatus for Drying Hair, of which the followin is a specification.
The present invention relates to an apparatus for drying hair by means of the heat of a hot water vessel from below and a hot air current from above. The invention consists in the current of air being sent through a body provided on the hot water vessel and here heated by ra: diation from said hot water vessel. 7 'The' invention isexemplified in the ac companying drawing in a constructional shaped long form.
Figure 1 is a perspective View of the apparatus. Fig. 2 is a side view of the same. Fig. 3 is a section alongthe line A-B in Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a vertical section along the line CD in Fig. 2.
The vessel a is intended to be filled with hot water and is for this purpose provided at the side with a suitable cook or lug g for filling and letting off the water. e upper side ofthe vessel a is made of a troughlike shape to adapt it to receive the hair. At the one side a semicylindrically or similarly hollow body d is secured, through which air may be sent by means of a flexible tube 0 and a bellows b or the like, while the apparatus is in. use. The air assing through this hollow body d be heated therein and may be dimacted by means of a flexible tube 0 against the hair in the trough of the vessel 0,. Preferabl this Patented Sept. 3,1912
flexible tube 6 is fitted with a flat, road nozzle f, for the purpose of distributingthe emerging air over a greater area.
vBy the use of the present apparatus the hair will simultaneously be heated from above and below and therefore dried 'in a simple and rapid manner.
Iclaim:- 1. Apparatus for drying hair comprising in combination-a hot water vessel for drying the hair from below and asecond hollow vessel adjacent to said hot -water vessel,
means for driving a current of air through said second vessel, and means for directing the thereby heated current of air on the hair on said water vessel, substantially as set forth. 7 1
2." Apparatus for drying hair comprising in combination a hot water vessel having its upper side trough-like shaped for receiving the hair, a second hollow vessel of semi-cylindrical shape attached to said hot water vessel, means for driving a current of air throu hsai'd second vessel, and means forv directing the thereby heated current of air onthe hair on said hot water vessel, substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto signed my name this 12th day of April 1911,
in the presence of twosubscribing witnesses.
