Patented Aug. 13, 1912.
To all whom it may concern:

My invention relates to improvements in finger moisteners, and the particular object is to make the same sanitary and more sightly in appearance than the ordinary desk sponge cup.
I attaln these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in
which--- Figure 1 is an assembly drawing showing the device attached to an ordinary commercial glass sponge cup; Fig. 2 is a detailed drawing of the perforated metal diaphragm. Similar letters refer to similar parts throughout the several views.
Referring to the drawing, D is a metal diaphragm stamped out to fit the top of the sponge cup, having perforations therein to admit moisture therethrough; B is a sponge cup; W represents the water therein; and S is a wetted sponge contained in the cup; P is a felt pad placed over the sponge with keeps the top of the sponge mo1stened.
the diaphragm,
its ends dipping in thewater. This pad by Be it known that 1, MARK ST. CLAIR Eu capillary action, draws 11p the water i nd he diaphragm, D is placed on top of the pad and is retained in the cup by the lugs, L.
The action of the device is as. follows: When water is placed in the cup the sponge and the felt are moistened, and by pressing upon the diaphragm, moisture is caused to ass to the outside of D. his moisture may be transferred to 'the finger in' the ordinary manner by touching it.
