To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HENRY A. YOUNG, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Toy HandkerchiefBoXes, of which the following is a specification.

The objects of my invention are to provide a box-body adapted to contain dolls and childrens handkerchiefs and having integral portions for positioning so that the box-body may serve as a toy in the form of a miniature doll-bed, to avoid the use of detachable parts in construction of the boxbody, and to form a useful and attractive little article for young girls use.

The present invention is an improvement over that shown in United States Letters- Paten-t, No. 961,331, issued to me June 14, 1910, and consists of the novel construction and combination of parts, as hereinafter described and claimed.

In the accompanying sheet of drawings, Figure 1 represents a perspective view of my improved toy box-body, as after being positioned to form a miniature doll-bed. Fig. 2 is a perspective View of a package of childrens handkerchiefs having dolls therebetween, as the articles to form the contents of the box-body. Fig. 8 is a longitudinal section of the box-body, showing end wings which form the head and foot portions of the doll-bed. Fig. 1 is a similar section, showing the wings in closed position on the box-body, and also illustrating the handkerchiefs and dolls within the latter, and, Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the cover for the box-body.

A, designates the box-body which forms my improvement in an article of this character, and, referring to Figs. 3 and 4, this box-body is constructed in one member, having a rectangular bottom, a, which is surrounded by side walls a a and end walls a a and from the corners of the latter extend wings a a which form the head and foot portions of the doll-bed, and said Wings are designed to be swung inwardly, in the arrow directions, to close openings a 0; formed in the bottom, a, and corresponding in contour with said wings.

When the article is to be used as a miniature doll-bed the box-body is inverted and the wings a brought to their open positions shown in Fig. 1, the handkerchiefs b, with dolls c therein, are then placed on this con verted bed.

A removable open-ended cover d is employed to slide over and close the box-body and its contents, in the manner indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 4:.

By this description it is seen I avoid the use of detachable parts for assembling to convert the body to a bed, as the wings a being integral with the member A prevent loss of these port-ions.

This improved box-body, together with its cover, are constructed from stiff cardboard, and artistically colored to make the combined article an attractive novelty for the purpose intended.

Having described my improvement, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters-Patent, is

In combination, the box-body A adapted to contain handkerchiefs and dolls, and said box-body constructed in one member and having its bottom, a, cut so as to form two upwardly-extending wings at the ends of said box-body, as at a a to receive the handkerchiefs and dolls therebetweenl, in the manner shown and for the purpose specified.
