As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the horizontal braces are inthe forni of straight braces adapted for forming the sides of a substantially rectangular table-top which can be completed by applying thereto a continuous band. that I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is- 1. ln a stand or table, and in eon'ibination, a central post having a closed end; and provided near said end with an aperture through the post, and provided with sideopenings in the vertical plane of said apen ture; a horizontal crioss-bar removably inserted through said aperture; detachable di agonal braces stepped at one end into the respective ends of said cross-bar, and at the other end adapted to occupy the respective sideopenings in said post; and a removable locking-key interposed between the wall of said aperture and the outer side of said cross-bar.

2. ln a stand or table, and in combination, a central post having a. closed end, and provided near said end with a four-way aper-v ture, and provided with side-openings; a pair of horizontal cross-bars removably inserted one above the other at right angles to ,each other through said vfour-Way aperture; detachable diagonal braces stepped at one end into the respective ends of said cross-bars, and at the other end adapt/ed to occupy the respective side-o enings in said post; and a removable looiug-key interposed between the Wall' of said aperture and the outer of said cross-bars- 3. In a stand or table, and in combina-Y tion, a central post having closed ends, and provided near each end with an aperture through the post, and provided with sideopenings in the vertiaxl plane of said aperture; a pair of horizontal cross-bars inserted in parallel relation to each other through said respective apertures; a removable locking-key interposed between the wall of one of said apertures and the inner side of the cross-bar extending therethrough.; a pair of braces stepped at their outer ends into the respective ends of said cross-bar, and extending diagonally inward toward the post; another pair of braces stepped into the respective ends of said other cross-bar, and extending diagonally inward to said post, and having on their inner ends members adapted to occupy the respective side-openings in the post, and members adapted to engage the inner ends of' the respective tirst` mentioned diagonal braces; and a removable locking-key interposed between the outer side of said other cross-har and the wall of the aperture through which the same passes.

'in a stand or table, and in combination, a central post: a cross-bar extending horizontally through an aperture inthe lower end of said post and provided near its ends with a bayonet groove; a foot having sidearms provided `with a projection adapted to travel along said bayonet groove; and a removable brace stepped into the outer end of said cross-bar `in engagement with said toot and serving to hold said foot at the end of said bayonet groove and extending upward and inward to said post.

5. ln a stztnd or table, and in combination, a central post; horizontal cross-bars provided with longitudinal side-grooves open at their outer ends; horizontal braces formed 'with tenons adapted to be slid into said grooves through their open eiids; and a band inclosing said cross-bars and horizontal braces, and serving to retainl saidbraces within said grooves.
