J. R. JAGKSON. DISINFECTANT HOLDER. APPLICATION FILED JUNE 7. 1911.

Q-nueutoz Jse blizjackson UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
-JO8IPH B. JACKSON, 01' mm, TENNESSEE DWTANfiFHOLDEB-i 1,o2,5,1s9. Ma m-m:- mm. .Patentedliay'7. 1912. Application fled June 1, 1811. Serial Io. 08 1388.
To all whomitmay concern: abgformed from a coil spring! open at the the holder applie Be itlmown that I, citizen of the United Memphis, in the'c'ounty of Shelby and tate of Tennessee, have invented certain new and Im rovements in ers, of which the following'ls a s This invention relates to fsinf'ectant holders pecially adapted to be-app'lied to closet bowls ina manner. not to interfere with the'}us'e of .the .bowl and-'- at the same Josnrn R. Jackson, States, resid' at l t 'exemise s influence in disinfect-in the bowl and its contents 1% atm here. 1 v
'e ob ect 10f -the inventionis to rovide asimple disinfectant holder in the orm of.
a springor other resilient having openorspaces in its-sides. his spring or.
y is. adapted-to" hold balls ofcamphor or other disinfecting agent and is closed at one end by means of a detachable strip to engage" the endconvolutions of the spring, when in place and hold the agent within the spr' for body. When the led the ends'of the body are brought toward each other and the sa d body is mserted'in" the bowl and pressure upon the ends is released, whereby the. said body may" e if thebowl' flex or s rin under the flan and is t useld in place. en so p'ositioned. the waterthat enters the bpwl willc0me :.in'contact with'the disinfecting ant and carry te same into the contents a the bowl. "Also the dripping I will have a tendency to disinfect the atmos: phere of th of the water from the said agent. 1
For a full understanding of the invention reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in whli chi I h i re' 1 is a erspective view s ow' gu d to a closet bowl; Fig- 2 is a sectional view of side elevation ofthe section. Gorrespon referred to in the following'description and ters.
en steel,

and the surroun arts are thus v such part into the contents of the s from the agent- 0 room as wellas the evaporation the same; Fig. 3-1s a' holder with parts in and like. parts are.
The holder consists of a body 1, prefer-'- e of rubber,
tween its convolutio'ns. This spri is filled with. balls of camphor. or other disinfecting agent. One end of the body'is-closed by a strip-2 which 'isprovided with loops 3 which are slipped over the end coil of the spring 'and.wh1ch may be, turned upon the convolutions of the sprin tween the ends '0 end of the spring to, a desired position bethe spring. The other is closed by the extremity 4 of; thespring dlspo'se'd diametrically of the, spring.
-Whenthe parts are. ,thus assembled the end ortionsof the. 'sprin or -body are broug ttogether and the sai body is assed into a bowl and pressure is rele upon the endgortion's thereof. The flex or spring of the. ody will cause theendportions thereof to attempt to assume 'their normal positions and consequently the body is held under the flange 'of the bowl, 'asillustrated in Fi 20f t 0 drawing. When so posis tionef the water that enters the bowl will h the disinfect agent ve the same an carrv bowl. Thus the contents of the bowl are disinfected. The dripping's from the disinfecting agent also pass into the bowl, while the evaporation therefrom will pass intothe atmosphere and disinfect the same.
'Havin' .thus described the invention, what and partial yldisso is claim as new is:
"A disinfectant holder consistin of a coiled spring fotmin'ga hollow bo y with disconnected ends one. of which is inwardly receive the o positeside portions of the spring and which maybe turned upon the convolutionsthereof to' a desired 'posit-ionbetweenthe. ends of the spring.
