To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Fnnnmucn Scrum)- CALL, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Cincinnati, Hamilton county,
State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in DoonLocking Means; and I do declare the following to be a clear, full, and exact description of the invention, attention called i0 the drawing, which accompanles this application and forms a part thereof.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in door-locking means, particularly intended for use on doors for re' frigeratozs and cooling rooms. Doors of this kind are usually provided with beveled edges which are fitted to seal: against a correspondingly shaped jamb, the object being to obtain a closure as near air-fight as is possible. To seat such a door properly, requires a certain amount of pressure and it also requires a certain effort to releasesuch a door when closely fitted from its seat for the purpose of opening it.
My invention consists of a construction wheneby in addition to the mere locking device, manipulating means are provided which permit the door to be tightly forced into closing position and whereby it may also be quickly released for opening.
In the following specification and particularly pointed out in the claims at the end thereof will be found a full description of my invention, together with its operation. parts and construction, which latter is also illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:

At one of its ends it carries a pin 15, which occupies a slot 16 in the latch-and atits other end is a handle 17 for manipulation. In either case handle 17 may be used in the further manipulation of the door, that is to open itto the full extent required or to move it the other way. In order to hold the handle rigid on the door during (his time there is a locking pin 21 carried on an arm :22 and pivotally supported in an extension 0 of the housing and which pin drops into a socket 23 properly lo ated on the latch when the latter movs into the xsition shown in Fig. 4. The latch is thereby held immovable so that. finger 19 remains in a position in which it may again readily ro-act with the keeper when the door is being closed. This pin may drop into position by more action of gravity, or a spring may be added adapted to act upon arm '13 to urrvh-raie the action if found necessary.
