The fuel is delivered. from a suitable fan or blower, F, which fan is shown in Fig. 1 as including a casing having a discharge'pipe, 15, connecting with the tubes, 14;' the fan has suitable blades, 18, which deliver the fine fuelunder' pressure through the discharge pipe, 15, one side of the fan casing being open and communicatin with a cylinder, 17, in which operate muller wheelsor om the latter blowing termined point.

also the steam turbine, C, if desired, are mounted upon a shaft, 41, which passes through a bearing, 20,;and thence through the cylinder, 17, containing the pulverizing agent, as the muller Wheel, 16, theopposite end or portion of the shaft, 41, being mounted in any suitable and well known manner; when operated the fan blades, 18, force the pulverized fuel through the discharge,15., and the tubes, 14, into the tire box abovete twyer, 42, as before described; and air from the rotary blower is delivered through the pipe, 4, into the twyer, 42, for purposes stated, it being understood that the fanfor feeding the fine fuel, as also the rotary blower, may be provided with such accessories as are usually found in machines of this character.
By reference to Fig. 1, it will be seen that the corrugated'fire-box is provided with a lining,-2l, composed offire-brick or other refractory insulating material, which, is designed for the purpose of insulatin the firethe exbox from the imurious action 0 treme heat, said fire-box being inclosed by the shell or casing, 22, having the usual head, 23. In a mechanism for feeding fine fuel, the combination with-a fire-box, of an arch built therein and inclining upwardly from the rear toward the front end, anupwardly directing twyer in the lower part of the fire box below the arch acting to maintain the fuel in suspension while being burned, means for admitting air under pressure to the twyer, said arch having a flue or passage throughit opening into the fire-box near the upper front end, means for'admitting air to said passage, means for controlling-the ad'- mission of air to the twyer, and passagein the arch, and means for injecting fine fueland air through the front end of the fire-- box whereby the fuel is burnedin suspensionunder the arch, said twyer adapted to blow a pilotfire of coarse coal-over which firethe injected fine fuel is burned.

Thelcombination with a fire-box of an arch built within the same and inclining upwardly from the rear to the front end said arch having an airpassage through it open ing into the upper along the lower portion of the fire-box below the arch and piercing the front end of the fire-box, and havingfa closure'for the outer end affording-access to the interior of the twyer, and means forsupplying air' under'pressureto the twyer, said twyer discharging upwardly and adapted to blow ront endof'th'efire-box, of an upwardly directing twyer extending a pilot fire of coarse fuel and maintain fine fuel 1n suspensionwhile being burned, and

In a mechanism for feeding fineifuel, the combination with a fire-box, and a sur face upon which a bed of fuel may be sustained, of an arch within the fire-box extending upwardly and forwardlyfrom the rear end, fuel feeding means delivering fine fuel into the space between said arch and and means for directing an air current upwardly into the path of the fine fuel 'whereby the fine fuel is burned in suspension in said space under the arch.
