UNITED STATES PATENT ()FFICE.
LEVI S. MYERS, 0F CONCORDIA, KANSAS.
HAND-BRACE FOR GUNS.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LEVI S. MYERS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Goncordia,- in the county of Cloud, State of Kansas, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Hand- Braces for Guns; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
My invention relates to new and useful improvements in hand grips for shot guns and rifles, and the object of my invention is to provide a device which may be readily attached to or detached from the stock of a gun and which will effectually prevent all slipping of the trigger hand thereon.
A further object of my invention is to provide means for readily adjusting the position of my improved device upon the stock, With respect to the trigger of the gun.
With these and other objects in view, my
invention will be more fully described, illustrated in the drawings which show a preferred embodiment of my device and then specifically pointed out in the claim which is attached to and forms a part of this application.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of a conventional form of gun showing my device applied thereto. Fig. 2 is a bottom plan view of the same, and Fig. 3 is a detail perspective of the device removed from the gun.
Referring more specifically to the drawlngs, in which similar reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout, 1 designates the gun of any preferred type to the lower face of the grip portion of the stock of which is secured my improved device, which as a whole is designated by the numeral 2. As best shown in Fig. 3 of the drawings this device consists of a body member 3 having at its forward end a clownwardly and forwardly extending hook 4: adapted to be engaged by the little finger of Specification of Letters Patent.

caved longitudinally to form a seat for thegun stock, while its lower face is rounded to correspond in contour with said stock. This body member is provided with spaced apart longitudinally extending slots 5, and is secured to the stock by means of screws 6 which are passed through said slots and into the stock of the gun.
As shown in Figs. 1 and 2 of the drawings this device is attached to the stock in such a position that when the gun is held in the customary manner with the forefinger on the trigger, the little finger will rest against the forward face of the hook 4 thus absolutely preventing all slipping of the hand. By means of the slots 5 and the screws 6 the device may be readily adjusted longitudinally of the stock to adapt it for use with persons having either large or small hands.
As will be apparent from the foregoing description the device is simple and economical in construction, easily applied to all guns, without greatly increasing their weight, and eifectually prevents slipping of the hand upon the grip thus greatly increasing the effectiveness of the gun.
What I claim is 2- The combination with a gun and its triggcr, of a plate having one end portion curved longitudinally and extending with the chord of its curvature at right angles to the axis of the plate, said plate being disposed against the stock of the gun with said chord of curvature substantially parallel with the trigger of the gun, and means for adjustably securing the plate to the stock of the gun to permit of movement of the curved portion of the plate toward or away from the trigger.
In testimony whereof, affix my signa- Copies oi. this patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the Commissioner of Patents,
