WATCH-ALBUM.

To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ISAAC Kasmnom a subject of the Czar of Russia, residing at New York, county of New York, and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in WVatch-Albums, of which the following is a specification.

My invention relates to watch cases or lockets and the object of my invention is to provide such cases or lockets with means for holding a large number of miniatures or small sized photographs.

A further object of my invention is to provide a device of the class mentioned which shall be of such construction that the pictures may be readily inserted or removed when desired.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

With these objects in view my invention consists generally in a plurality of frames formed of thin material and hingedly connected so as to fold one upon the other and adapted to be arranged within the case of a watch or a locket.

My invention further consists in forming the frames above mentioned of two parts, the parts being hingedly connected to permit the pictures being readily placed between them or removed, and means for securing the parts in closed position.

My invention further consists in various details of construction and arrangements of parts all as will be fully described herein after and particularly pointed out in the claims.

My invention will be more readily understood by reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification and in which Figure 1 is a vertical section through a watch case equipped with a device embodying my invention in its preferred form, the frames being illustrated in extended or unfolded position, Fig. 2 is a similar view with the frames folded and closed within the case, Fig. 3 is a horizontal section through the case with the frames partially extended, and Fig. 4 is a perspective view of one of the frames in open position.

Referring now to the drawings 1 indicates a watch case of any ordinary or preferred construction and 2 the hinged back or back closure.

While I have illustrated my invention in conjunction with a watch it is to be under- Specification of Letters Patent.

stood that it can be arranged within a locket if preferred.

The device comprises a plurality of frames 3 hingedly connected as at 4 and hingedly mounted within the case 1 as at 5 so that the several frames will fold upon each other within the case as shown in Fig. 2. The several frames 3 are each formed of two similar annular members 6 and 7 hingedly connected as at S. The hinges S are preferably at substantially 90 degrees from the hinges 4 in order that either of the frames may be readily opened without interfering with the others. In order that the frames may readily fold one upon the other the hinges 4 of two adjacent frames are formed upon the members 7 and those of the next adjacent frames on the members 6 as will be readily understood by referring to Figs. 3 and 4.

The members 6 and 7 are formed of thin sheet material in order that a large number of frames shall occupy but a small space and the members 7 are formed with small ears 9 which project beyond the periphery thereof and are adapted to be bent over the edges of the members 6 to hold the members in closed position. Being formed of thin flexible material, preferably metal, they may be readily bent to fasten or unfasten the frames.

The hinges L and 8 are preferably formed integral with their respective frame members and to this end are formed as projecting ears on the members when stamped from the material and afterward bent into the proper cylindrical form to receive the hinge ins. p Having described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:

1. A watch case in combination with a plurality of picture holding frames hingedly connected together at their opposite edges to fold one upon the other and a hinge connection between one of said frames and said watch case, each of said frames comprising a pair of similar annular members hingedly connected at points removed from the hinges connecting the several frames, substantially as described.

2. A watch case in combination with a plurality of hingedly connected picture holding frames, one of said frames being hingedly connected to the watch case, and

each of said frames comprising a pair of similar skeleton frame members hingedly connected at points removed from the hinges connecting the several frames and one member of each frame being hingedly connected to the corresponding member of the next adjacent frame on one side and the other member being hingedly connected to the corresponding member of the adjacent frame on the other side and means for securing the members of each frame together in closed position, substantially as described.
