IMPROVEMENT IN PAPER-FILES.
The Schedule referred to in these Lettera Patent and making peut of the same.
To all lwhom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN E. QUARLns, of Richnond, in the county of Henrico and in the State of Virginia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Letter' and Bill-Files; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exactV description thereof, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawings and to the letters of referencel vmarked thereon making a part of this specilicntion.

This construction of the bill or memorandum-tile is a decided improvement over those now in use, in this, that, whereas they are' now made with the base and wire securely fastened together, whereby it is necessary to remove all of the papers tiled thereon by slipping them off and then using a large needle and thread to string the same, while in mine the bese of the file and the wire are. separate, :ind the latter, shaped like a needle, is secured into the former and can be easily detached. It is, therefore, easily used by` inserting the wire B, on which the papers are filed, and, before the papers are removed, putting a string in the eye or slot a' of the wire 0n which the papers are tiled. body upon the string, and easily fastened together, by which needle, time and trouble are avoided.
