To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDERIK C. PETER- SEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Lindsay, in the county of Platte, State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gambrel-Sticks; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to gambrel sticks and more particularly to that class of gambrel sticks which may be adjusted to various sizes. It will of course be understood however that the invention may be used for any purpose to which it is adapted.
The object of the invention is to provide a gambrel stick containing an adjusting core, by use of which, hooks, mounted on sleeves carried by said core, may be adjusted to various sizes.
In the drawings, forming a portion of this specification and in which like numerals of reference indicate similar parts in the several views :Figure 1 is a side elevation of the invention. Fig. 2 is a sectional view thereof.
Referring to the drawings the invention consists of an adjusting core 10 having two oppositely threaded end portions 11 and 12 and a hand piece 13 intermediate thereof.

and 12 are sleeves 14 and 15. The inside portions of these sleeves are oppositely threaded, so as to permit them to act with the end portions of the core. These sleeves are provided with hooks 16 which are adapted to hold a hog or other animal. Pivotally connected to the sleeves 14 and 15 are links 17 and 18. The upwardly extending ends of these links 17 and 18 are pivotally connected together and to a suspending eye 19. The links will of course be of such a length as will permit the sleeves to be extended outwardly until their inner ends are extended to the outer extremities of the end portions of the core.
\Vhat I claim is A gambrel stick comprising a core including two oppositely threaded end portions and a hand piece intermediate thereof, sleeves adjustably mounted on the end portions of the core and having their inside portions threaded oppositely so that they will act with said end portions of the core, hooks carried by the sleeves, links pivotally connected to the sleeves and a suspending eye pivotally connected with the links.
