My invention relates to a life net holder for holding nets and to be used more particularly for holding one or more of the sides of a life net such as is used for rescuing persons from a burning building or other buildings when it is impossible or impracticable for the inmates to escape from the same by the usual means of egress.

The objects of my invention are to provide a device of the character described, that may be quickly and easily attached to the outer wall of a building from which the people are to be rescued, which may also be quickly attached to and which will give a proper amount of elasticity to the net, so that a person striking it will not be injured, and further which 1s simple, durable and economical of construction. I attain these objects bythe device illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a front elevational View of a building, showing my device attached to the Wall of the building, and to the life net, Fig. 2 is a side elevational view of the same, Fig. 3. is an enlarged end view of my device showing the hook, the cable, the spring and a life net attached thereto, and Fig. 4 is an enlarged front view of my device showing it attached to the wall of a building and connected with a life net.

The hook 1 is preferably made as shown best in Fig. 3 and is adapted to be placed in the Walls of buildings a sufficient height from the ground and at a proper distance apart to provide a .proper support. The cable 2 is made of a flexible material and is provided with snaffie hooks 6 which are adapted to be attached to rod 3. In one edge of the life net is securely fastened rod 5 and attached to the. rods 3 and 5 are coil springs 4 of which a suflicient number are used to port the net and relieve the body strikes it.

The outer edge of the net is held by persons, while the inner portion is supported by red 5, thus formingia safe and substantial support for the life net.

, It will be readily seen that with this c0nstruction and arrangement, there is pro vided a life not holder that may be quickly and easily attached to the outer wall of a building, that can also be quickly attached to a life not, that is durable and will furnish a proper amount of elasticity to the net, and that is simpleand economical of construction.

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A life not holder comprising a rod securely attached to the one edge of a life net, a plurality of coiled springs attached at one of their ends to said rod, another rod attached to the other ends of said springs, a plurality of hooks securely fastened to the wall of a building, a cable adapted to be loosely su ported by said hooks, a plurality of snafiie ooks connecting said cable with said last mentioned rod adapted to slide along said cable and rod to provide adjustment of said net to said wall or building, all substantially as set forth.
