CROSS-STRAP CONNECTOR.
To all 'whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES I. MILLAR, citizen of the United States, residing at Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cross-Strap Connectors, of which the following is a specification.
This invention comprehends certain new and useful improvements in garters of the leg encircling type, and relates particularly to `that class of such garters that are designed to be secured to the half-hose at two points on the opposite sides respectively of the leg, so as to keep the stocking *up on all sides in proper shape and prevent sagging at any point.
The invention has for its object a ysimple and efiicient construction of adjustment slide and clamp at the point where the garter ends cross.
With this and other objects in view as will more fully appear as the description proceeds, t-he invention consists in certain constructions and arrangements of the parts that I shall hereinafter fully describe and claim.
For a full understanding of the invention reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawing, in which-m Y Figure 1,'is a perspective view illustrating-a use of the improved slide; Fig. 2, is an enlarged detached perspective view4 of the improved slide.

The plate is also provided at diagonally opposite corners with clamping fingers 4 which preferably extend parallel to each ot-her, said clamping fingers extending4 inwardly over the plate of which the clamp 2 is formed lwith their inner or free extremities preferably terminating substantially on the same transverse line. The
free ends of the fingers 4 are preferably turned slightly outward soas to provide for the ready insertion of the other of the straps, the same being inserted first underneath one of the fingers and then underneath the other finger as will bereadily understood. By this means, it is evident thatas the clamp 2 has a slidin connection with one of the straps and adJustably holds the other strap, adjustment between the two may be easily effected.
Having thus described the invention what is claimed as new is; V
A cross strap connector consisting of a plate formed with two strap receiving slots spaced apartand extending in parallel relations, and two clamping fingers extending from the plate at its diagonally opposite corners and externally of the slots, said fingers being bent over the plate and projecting over the slots, whereby the portion of a strap bearing 4beneath the fingers is held thereby in contact .with another portion of a strap when the same is threaded through the slots.
