DISPLA'. -RACK To all whom it may concern: Be it known that we, MARIO S. Roonnnro BERT, citizens of the United States of America, residing at Pittsburgh, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Racks, of which the following is a specification, reference. being panying drawing. I This invention relates to a display rack, particularly designed for displaying an nouncement cards, signs and programs.
The primary objectof the invention is to provide a' rack constructed upon the prin' ciple of an easel, whereby the rack can be easily and quickly folded and readily carried in the pocket.
Another object of the invention is to provide a folding rack that can be used for displaying jewelry and various. kinds of the rack being inexpensive to manufacture and presenting a neat appearance. 7
A further object of the invention is to furnish novel means, in a manner as will be hereinafter set forth, whereby announcement cards and signs can be detachably connected to the rack.
wlVith the above and other the invention resides in the tion, combination and to be hereinafter specifically described and then particularly claimed.
Reference will now he had to the drawing, wherein like numerals of reference designate corresponding parts throughout the several views, in which Figure 1 a perspective view of the rack in an open position. Fig, 2 is a front elevation of the same in a closed position. 3 is an enlarged vertical sectional view of the rack. Fig. 4 is a rear elevation of a portion of cards adapted to be supported by the rack, Fig; 5 is a rear elevation of a modified form of cards, and Fig. 6 is an edge view broken away illustrating one of the hangers as applied to cards.
A rack in accordance with this invention coi'i'iprises a head 1 and suitably attached to the front side of said head is a center piece 2 having the upper and lower ends thereof projecting above and below the upper and head 1. Pivot-ally conobjects in view novel construcarrangement of parts had therein to the accom Specification of Letters Patent.- Application fiIed Ma -Ch 14, 1911.

nected to the head 1, at the sides of the piece 2, by pins 3 are legs 4 and 5, said legs having the upper ends thereof beveled, as at 6, whereby the pivoted legs can be swung outwardly. The outward movement of the legs is limited bythe beveled end 6 engaging the sides of the center piece 2.
'l-linged or otherwise connected, as at 7,
to the lower end of the, center piece 2 is a center leg 8. The upper hinged end of the leg 8 is provided with a strap 9 that serves two purposes, stop for limiting he forward movement of the leg 8, Hinged or otherwise connected, as at 10, to the front side 8 is a stretcher 11 having the forward end therefore hinged or otherwise connected, as at 12, to a link 13 having the ends thereof namely, as a hook and as a of'the center leg pivotally connected, as at let, to braces 15-, v
pivotally supported, as at 16, by the side legs a and 5. The upward movement of the braces 15 is limited by a the froInt side of the leg 4;.
The card to be supported at the upper end of the rack is designated 18 and adjacent to the upper edge is ppovided with. a slot .19 to receive the hook or strap 9. Pivotally connected to the rear side of at the lower edge thereof, are
in l" of the drawings there is illustrated a mmlitication of the invention, wherein the r side of the card 18 is re inferred by a nine 25. Ev pushing inwardly card 18,
upon the said legs 3 15 shift the link 13 upwardly, thereby causing the stretcher 11 to more the center leg ii'iwaiirdly between the side legs 4- and 5'; the structure presenting a compact parcel that can be easily carried in the pocket or in a niusicians' case. It is in this connection that the rack can be advantageously used by musicians and orchestra leaders supplying music for dances and concerts. The card 18 can contain the name of the orchestra and the remaining cards the name of the dances. The rack in its entirety can be made of light and durable a: and the brat "v pin .17, carried by the card 18,
hangers carried by the rear metal, wood, or any other suitable material, of various sizes and used for various p111;
poses. I
What we claim is v A rack comprising a head, a center piece secured to the front side of said head and projecting above and below the same, side. legs pivotally connected to said head and having'their outward movement limited by said center piece, a center leg pivotally connected tot-he lower end of said center piece and having its upper end provided with a strap for limiting the forward movement ofv said leg, said strap further constituting a MARIO S.
