Be it known that I, VILLIA'M L. SEELIG, a citizen of the United States, residing at the cit-y of St. Louis, in the State of Mis'- souri, have invented a'certain new and useful Cash-Fare-Receipt Form, of which t-he following is such a full, clear, and exact description as will enable any one skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.

The object of my invention is to provide a cash fare receipt forni which will be more convenient and satisfactory than those heretofore in use and one which will contain a portion adapted to be used as a hat check.

My invention consists of the various novel features whicli'will be described herein and will be pointed out inthe claims annexed hereto.

In the accompanying drawings which illustrate my invention, Figurel represents a side View of a pad of my novel receipt forms,

the sheets being separatedat the bottom.

Fig. 2 is a face view of the lower sheet of the form.' Fig.v 3 is a face view of the upper sheet of the form and Fig. 4 shows the reverse side of Fig. 3.

Like marks of reference refer to similar parts in the several views of the drawings.

The sheet shown in Fig. 3 hereinafter called sheet 3 is superimposed on the sheet shown in Fig. 2 hereinafter called sheet 2 in s'uch a manner that corresponding markings on the two sheets coincide. The upper part of the back of sheet 3 is carbonized as shown in Figjt, the carbon extending far enough down to cover the blank space at the top of part 7 of sheet 2. The forms are bound together in a pad by means of a staple or in any other suitable manner. As -is shown in the drawings, part 5 above the weakened line (3 contains blanks for the insertion of the station number and the amount paid and also printed matter constituting it a receipt for fare. The part 7 below the weakened line contains blanks for the insertion of the number of the station of destination and also month and dayv indications arranged in parallel columns by means of which the date of passage may be indicated with a punch, pencil, or in any other desired manner.

Since sheet 3 lies above sheet 2 in the posi-- tion heretofore described and has a part of its back carbonized, it will beapparent that the necessary indications caribe madesimultaneously on both sheets. After being suitably marked sheet 3 is detached and retained by the conductor. Sheet 2 is then de .tached from the pad and divided into sections along the weakened line 6, the lower section being placed wherever convenient so that the station number will be exposed to view and the upper section being given to the passenger asa receipt for fare. The advantages of this form of receipt are that stations between which the passenger has traveled. y

Having fully described my invention, what l claim as new and' desire to secure by Letters Patent of the-United States is:

A cash fare receipt form comprising two superimposed sheets and means for transferring markings from thel upper sheet to the lower sheet, the upper sheet bearing a printed form of an auditors advice of cash fare paid, the lower sheet being divided by a transverse weakened linefinto two sections, one section bearing a printed foiin of a passengers receipt for fare paid and the other section having an appropriately located space for indicating the destination and designated as a hatcheck, the blank spaces on the upper sheet being so positioned with reference to the blank spaces on the lower sheet that when properly filled in the markings will be transferred to the lower sheet to make one section thereof a complete receipt for Vfare and the hat check section indicate the destination.

A cash fare receipt form comprising two superimposed printed sheets, a part of the back of theupper sheet being carbonized and the lower sheet beingdivided into two parts by a transverse weakened line, each of said sheets having month and day indications and properly designated spaces for the amount of fare and stations, said indications and spaces on each sheet being positioned to register with like indications and spaces on the other and so arranged that the upper part of the lower sheet will contain the spaces for indicatin the station of embarkation and the fare paid, and the lowerl part'of said sheet will be provided -with a suitable space for indicating the destination. i"
