' To all whom Ztmay concern:
CHARLES. ALBERTv Be itknown that I,
..CLARK, a-citizenof the United States, re-
siding at Toledo, in the county of Lucas and State'of Ohio, .have invented a new and use#4 ful Automatic Bufing--Maclune, of Vwhich the following is 'a specification.
My invention relates to an automatic bud#- ingI machine comprising a vertical shaft carrying two separate bufiing wheels in close proximity to each other, said Wheels held wheels is revoluble within a frame carrytached to this' frame at the periphery are one or more frames .each carrying a revoluble head. Thishead consists of'a fixed casing with .trunnions and xed gear attached to the same, meshing into a cam operated rack driven by a flexible shaf t,'1 in1 versal joints and gears, from the main block7 paste or shaft carrying the buffing wheels. This ball bearing head casing carries within itself a reversible electrically operated chuck, driven by a worm and shaft running 'through the center of the trunnions, said shaft driven by universal joints, flexible slgaft and gears from the main shaft. E; vmeans of' universal joints as many Sep* grate heads may be connected up as desired, but the power is only transmitted to the first unit, being connected to'each :other by universal joints and, splined, sliding, adjustable shafts.- Limeand tripoli', either in semi-liquid form'is applied automaticallyby the action ofthe bufiing wheels themselves, Awhich back linto a roll.
