This invention relates to improvements in a device to be used on window frames hs a protector or holder for lace, curtains, and it consists in certain peculiarities of the construction, novel arrangement, and o eration the various parts thereof, as will e here i after more fully set forth and specifically claimed.

The principal object of the invention is to provide a protecting device for window. curtains, which shall be simple and inexpensive in construction, strong, durable, and efficient in operation, and so mzide that it can be readily applied to or removed from the window frame, as well as, to be adjustable to window frames Of diifercnt widths, an to hold the edges of came s of different widths without causing the same to be unduly wrinkled or creased by vertical folds;

From' the foregoin and by referenoe'to the drawing, it will readil understood and clearl seen, that by amp oying a protector em dy' our invention, a c1 1rtain or curtains 71% prevented thereby from being, blown against the window frame or the window screen, when the window sash is raised, which frames and screens carry more or less dust and in some instances, rust and h tains, consisting of a' tubular member, a

moisture w ich would soil and injure the curtains. It is'also obvious that thes ring clamps C, and D, afford means for ho ding 0, vent them from becoming unduly crease or the curtains at their edges, which will rewrinkled, and besides will more positively prevent the curtains being blown or drawn y reason 'of suction against the window frames or screens.

Having thus fully described our invention what we claim as new and desire to secure by Letters-Patent is- 1. An adjustable protector for lace curtains consisting of a pair of longitudinally adjustable rods each having at its outer portion a horizontall disposed arm terminating in a downwar' y'dlsposed arm, a spring clamp secured at oneof its ends to each of the horizontally disposed arm? and extended longitudinally therewith, and means engaging the downturned arms for the support of r vmeans en aging the downwardly disposed arms for t e sup ort of the same.

An adjusta le protector for lace curspring clamp mounted on said member between its ends, a rod adjustably located in each end of the tubular member, each of said rods having on its outer portion a horizontally disposed arm terminating in a *downwardly disposed armfa spring clamp securedat 'one of its ends to each of the horizontally disposed arms and extended longitudinally therewith, and screw eyes engaging the downwardly disposed armsand secured to the sides of a window frame.
