IMPROVED TOILET-MIRROR.

The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same To all whom-it may concern.

Be it known that I, GEORGE H. Onmxocx, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Adjustable Toilet- Mirrors; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and, exact description of the construction and operation of the same, reference being bad to' the accompanying drawings making a part of this specification, in which- V Figure 1 is a back view of a toilet-mirror attached to an extension stand.

Figure 2 is a view in detail of angular springs and an arm connecting the mirror with extension stand.

Like letters in both figures of the drawings indicate like parts.

My invention relates to the devices used in my patented mirrors of September 14, 1869, for holding the mirror when adjusted to the angle or position desired, by means of the friction of a spring pressing upori'tne end or sides of an arm having a swivel motion on the post of a stand, said spring being attached to the back of the mirror, and connecting properly with said arm, and consists in the combination of said devices with an adjustable extension standard of a stand, whereby the adjustmentofthe mirror maybe accomplished in a more convenient manner by doing away with the turning of the standard or stand; also, with the regulating of a set-screw, or other similar'device referred to, which are attached centrally to the back of the mirror by screws b b.

A lady, when about dressing her hair or arranging her toilet, first adjusts the standard B by raising or lowering it. so as to have the mirror correspond with the position of her head, and then tightening the setscrew (1 to hold the standard in place. She then places the mirror and stand immediately back of her, in such position with the bureau-mirror as to enable her to get a back view of her head or person; and, by turning the mirror either'up or down or around, she

taining a complete view of her head or person, without the inconvenience of turning the standard or stand, or adjusting a set-screw, as ordinarily.

Having thus fully described my invention, What I claim therein as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

Claim.

In an adjustable toilet-mirror, the combination of the arm D, either fixed or having a swivel motion, and springs O, with the adjustable extension standard Band set-screw a of stand A, substantially as described.
