To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE L. Hess, a citizen of the United States, residing at La Junta, in the county of Otero, State of Colorado, have invented certain new and useful Iln rovements in Flumes; and I do hereby dec are the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to flumes and particularly to that type employed in irrigation.
' The object of the invention resides in the provision of a lural section flame of the character name which includes improved means for securing the sections together in a water-tight manner and which at the same time will ofl'er the least resistance to the flow of water through the flume.
A further object of the invention resides in securing certain of thesections of the flume to ther in a water-tight manner so as to. permit the sections so connected to move lon 'tudinally with respect to each other wit out destroyin such water-tight connection and thereby a low for the expansion and contraction of the sections of the fiume and obviate the possibility of breakage or disarrangement of parts due to such expansion and contraction.
With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the details of construction and in the arrangement and combination of parts to be hereinafter more fully described and particularly pointed out in the I appended claims.
