REINFORCED-CONCRETE FLOOR AND CEILING.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE M. GRAHAM, a citizen of the United States of America, and a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented .objectto provide a simple and efficient, link or tie piece for connecting in a ready and substantial manner the perforated sheet lathing to the skeleton wire center of the aforesaid patented construction and in the formation of floors and other substantially horizontal portions of the building, all-as will hereinafter more fully appear.
In the accompanying drawings :Figure l is a section of a reinforced concrete floor having the present improvement applied. Fig. 2 is an enlarged detail sectional eleva-' t-ion.
Similar numerals of reference indicate like parts in the different views.
Referring to the drawings, 1 represents a member of the border frame of round tubing, and around which are wound continuous wrappings of wire to form upper and lower skeleton centers 2 and 3 therefor, which in connection with such border frame constitutes the skeleton reinforcing portion of a reinforced concrete floor or other like horizontal part of the building, as set forth in detail in my aforesaid prior Patent No. 865390 of Sept. 10, 1907.
4: is a perforated lathing sheet supported a distance away from the upper skeleton wire center 2 by a series of suspension links ,5 of varying lengths, in order that the perforated lathin'g will have an initial dished form as shown, and as set forth in my aforesaid patent.
The present improvement relates Wholly to the special construction of the above mentioned suspension links, and whereby the engagement of the same with the lathfor engagement with the lathing ing and the skeleton rod center can be effected in an easy and convenient manner while at the same time preventing subse quent accidental disengagement during the erection of the building, and prior to the application of the cement body forming the floor, by vibration of the tensioned rod center under the weight of the workmen passing over the same in the erecting operation. To such end said links 5 will have a substantially triangular form, having at one side a gap or opening as illustrated in Fig.

As so formed an upper'half-round eye or loop 6 is provided for engagement over'a wire or rod of the skeleton center 2, and said eye or loop in turn will have a free de* pending end 7 of some length. 'A lower elongated stirrup portion 8 is also provided 4 through a plurality of openings therein, and said stirrup in turn will have a free upturned end 9 of some length. With the described constructionthe free upturned end 9 will be in a vertical plane a distance outside the vertical plane of the downturned end 7 which arrangement has been found to greatly facilitate the introduction of the links into place, as well as prevent the accidental disengagement abovereferred to.

Having thus fully described my said invention what I claim as new and. desire to secure by Letters Patent, is I Means for connecting perforated metal lathing to the skeleton wire centers of ram forced concrete structures, comprising a link having an approximately triangular form one side of the link being opento provide depending and upturned ends respectively, the upturned end being in a vertical plane outside that of the depending end.
