useful Crude-Oil Vaporizer and Burner, of which. the following is a specification.
This invention lclates to a crude oil. vaporizer and'hurner and belongs to that class wherein the vnporous fluid generated from the crude oil is intimately mixed before dclivery to the burner with. superheated. steam,

The bushing .15 1S screwed into the end of a casing tube 12 which is secured on the end :3 of the cylinder 3 and projects into close proximity with the end, plate 2. The open time 32 of the needle valve delivers into a conical cavity 16 which is provided with it series of apertures by which the escaping crude oil vapor'ous tluirl is diffused, and the ontshle of the bushing '15 where it isgcrewcrl into the tube 12 is furnished with a series of (loop angled grooves 17 through which steam is delivered to mix with the (liii'used vuporous fluid. The inner side of the puss'uge' 6 through which the mixed vuporous fluid and steam is delivered to the burner nozzle 7 is provided with a spiral groove 18 which tiltl-w' in mixing the vaporous fluid and straw rtl'rclually together.
In operation the steam delivered at 8 1s superheated tlurin its passage through the coil Shcforc it is rlhlivered into the chamber 4 through its proximity to the flame from the burner nozzle 7. The crude oil admitted at to the coil within. the steam filled chamber 4 is vaporized. by the heat therefrom and the va or is delivered at 31 into the pipe 11 from w ich it is admitted through the needle valve into the cavity of the diffusing cone 16. It is here mixed with the superheated steam from the chamber 4 which passes around the end of the casing pipe 12 and is deliver-d through the rooves 17 at an an 1e that will cause acircu ar motion favora le to efiicient mixin which circular motion is reversed as t e vaporous mixture passes through 6 and in contact with the spiral grooves 18. As the mixture escapes through the burner nozzle 7 a supply of heated air which has been admitted at 26 and has been heated in its passage through the annular space 21 before delivery at 27 to the burner is furnished to the flame by which eflicient combustion of the mixture is insured.
It will be obvious that if the burner is used for a urpose where steam is not available for de ivery to the pipe 8 a small quantity of water may be admitted thereto which will become steam in its passage through the coil.
A steam connection 85 may be made by which in the event of the needle valve or burner nozzle becomin obstructed the same may be blown throng in which use'the crude oil su ply will be closed by a valve external to the device or if found necessary the oil coil may also be blown through.
Having now particularl? described my invention and the manner 0 its use, I here-p by declare that what I claim as new and desire to be protected in by Letters Patent, is
1. An Oll vaporizer and burner, com rising in combination, a hollow c liilder rom one end of which a burner nozzle projects, a fuel pipe passin through the cylinder and connected to the urner nozzle, an oil vaporizing ipe coiled within -the cylinder one end 0 which pipe is connected to a source of oil su ply, and the other to said first mentione' pipe, a steam generating dpiipe coiled in front of the burner nozzle an elivering into the hollow cylinder in which is the oil vaporizing coil, and means for admitting steam from the cylinder, to mingle with the vapor before delivery to the burner nozzle.
2. An oil vaporizer and burner, com rising incombination, a hollow cylinder rom one end of which a burner nozzle rojects, a pipe passing through the cylinder and connected to the burner nozzle,an oil vaporizing pipe coiled withinthe cylinder one end of which pipe is connected toan oil supply source and the'other to said first mentioned pipe, a steam generating )ipe forming a coil around the burner nozzle and projecting beyond, it, one end of which coil is connected to a su ply source of water and the other end do ivering into the hollow c linder, means for admitting steam from t e cylinder to min 1e with the vapor before deliver to the urner nozzle, a casing encircling t e steam cylinder and its generating coil, means for delivery of air to the annular space between the casing and the cylinder and means for delivering air from the casing ad acentto the burner nozzle.
3. An oil vaporizer and humor, comprising in combination, a hollow c linder from one end of which a burner nozz e projects, a pipe passing through the cylinder and connected to the burner nozzle, an oil vaporizing ipe coiled within the cylinder, one end of wliich is connected to an oil supply and the other to said first mentioned pipe, a steam generatng ipe coiled in proximity to the burner nozz e, one end of which pi is oonnectible to a water suppl and the 0 er end delivering into the hol ow cylinder, means for admitting steam from the c linder to the burner, a casing encircling t e steam cylinder and its oil vaporizing coil, said casin being rojected beyond the cylinder and doubled back to a position adjacent to the end of the cylinder, and a cylindrical partition seated .on the cylinder end and r0 ected within that portion of the casing liich projets beyond the cylinder.
4.
