IMPROVED COMPO'U'ND FOR THE MANUFACTURE OI WAX-FLOWERS.
The sehedulej referred to in these Letters Patent: and making part s! the same.
.I, MARY JANE MCGOLL, of the city of Chicago, in the State of Illinois, have invented a certain compound, being-an Improved Artists \Vax to be used in the manufacture of wax-flowers, and t'or other similar purposes.
Th'e' nature ofmydnvention consists in mixing spirits of turpentineandrosin with artists wax soas to produce a wax that s-an beused in. all weather and of a superior quality.
To prepare this compound, I take one ounce. of
spirits of turpentine, in which I dissolve three ounces now in use for like purposes, among which I mention the following:
It does not become brittle in cold weather, nor does warm weather interfere with its use; the sheetscan be placed together without inter-posing paper between them,- and will not adhere to each other; dust does notreadily-adhere to it, hut'can be brushed 05; colors can be more readily painted upon it; the same can be more easily out into thin sheets; and it does not have the glossy appearance of the grades or kindsof wax heretofore in use; and in use for making flowers orfruits is not so readily detected from natural fruits or flowers. v
\Vhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The manufacture or preparation of the compound herein described of the ingredients and in the proportions substantially as and for the purposes set; forth.
